Cyclamatic: The Beastamatic is dead! Long live the Beastamatic

Does it show what fets and caps are in the controllers?!?

    BMS Battery conversion kit

A few of us use the turnigy watt meter for that. I personally use one. Good little thing for the price. But as Dave has said above the cycle analyst is much better with more features and allows you to change settings on the fly. Nothing wrong with the turnigy ones there but limited. But at a...

All the business on Lithium life-span

Having such a large battery and lower charge and dischage effects would lengthen life. Even in Ebikes if you carried a 10ah battery vs a 20ah battery then not only do you have more range should you want it but the stress on each cell when a current is required is also halved. This in itself...

All the business on Lithium life-span

The BMS in most bike batteries off the shelf should be balancing all the time. They never stop. So you could only part charge your battery to prolong a little bit extra life. But that would mean knowing what capacity you've used and then charging on a timer to get it about 80% It simply is...

    BMS Battery conversion kit

I try not to think of it any more. As soon as I past the £700 mark I lost interest in the cost. Main thing is you enjoy it.

    Weight versus cost.

I seem to get more punctures with higher tire pressures rather than softer. Might just be coincidence though...

    Weight versus cost.

Exactly this is what I put in my previous post. Once up to a resonable speed on the flat the additional weight isn't so bad. Going up a hill though or a large headwind will seriously hinder progress. It matters less with asssitance though.

This is a 'Let's all save cwah from himself' thread :)

Yeah 3 mm is nothing. Easily bendable to move it and pinch it up no worries. My frame is aluminium and a suppose where I've been lucky is the actual drop outs are not on the frame but there a different metal that actually screws onto the frame. Hence Why i've got away with no torque arm's...

    Dirty rusty bafang hub

Its quieter now from my first commute with it today. Its definetly not a clearence issue. Its the actual cage bearing thats a bit lumpy. As the sound then resonates through the hub. It works really well and although the clutch appears to be stuck still rolls much better than it used to...

Oh didn't realise Alan was doing a group buy. I'll speak to him tonight regarding it.

Cwah, I will probably be ordering more motors from BMS soon. If you want I can buy an extra one and I can ship it to you for free as long as the additional postage on the inital order isn't to much more. Just thoguht I'd give you a heads up.

    Dirty rusty bafang hub

Took it apart and used silicone lube as well as regreased. Its better but still noisey. Think something has killed the inner bearing that holds the cage on that spins. Anyone ever replaced the inner bearings at all? The clutch also appears to be locked in place and doesn't seem to want to...

    Dirty rusty bafang hub

Yes kept the swarf off the magnets. Had to be quite delicate with it. As the disc was quite large. The bearings are off the shelf jobs. So easily found and brought. I replaced both bearings as the smaller one was only a fiver virtually so seemed daft not to. The sound I think is coming from...

    Dirty rusty bafang hub

New bearings fitted. Ended up angle grinding the remainder of the race off. Then whacking it with a chisel. Also swapped the smaller bearing as it was cheap and only a couple of quid for an skf obe in that size. All in all it's cost £24 for the bearings. However I do need to re grease...

    Weight versus cost.

I've never been to picky on weight. It seems making sure the basics like tire pressure and the correct clothing makes more of a difference than a kilo of weight. In fact I've added more weight to the bike to ensure it stopped better. But I understand the extra weight is a pain when riding...

Your all grumpy old men. I've been on car forums with 17 year old's that although lack the experience and knowledge that you've accquired over the years, have the same moaning patterns. Thats one of the main reasons I liked this forum. Because of the individuals and experience. Now your...

    From Switzerland

I really don't understand why they make bikes that tip the scale at that price unless there some concept design. It really makes a mockery of using a bike as a cheap form of transport. Still each to their own.
