    Wisper Battery Failure x 2

The DIY Lipo's and £200 batteries from other retailers like Sunlova and Kudo's make it more affordable. Least at that price you can grit your teeth and carry on but @ £500 it really is a kick in the balls. You can virtually buy a new Ebike at that cost every two years. But then I guess...

    Wisper Battery Failure x 2

Not good Alan. Sorry to hear about the bikes battery. Least you can keep it as a spare or maybe open it up and check all cells are ok. As mentioned above adaprting one of the other retailers batteries will prove far more economical. Or even buy a BMS battery with a larger capacity!

    [Noobie] First step to Lipo

Sorry the 3.6v was a resting voltage when not taking any load from the cells. Low voltage cut off will be lower due to the load being placed upon it. I think everyone ends up with a cells thats not quite in balance as the others. Which is why paralleling the cells usuallys helps out as the...

    New build.

I think you'll be ok at 728 peak on a tongxin so long as your not making it do rediculous starts at full throttle. Easing the power in is always a good start. At least for everything invloved including yourself. Sounds like a good build and you have it all sorted. Good setup on the bulk...

    [Noobie] First step to Lipo

There pretty much out of capacity at 3.6v resting though!

    puncture strategy?

Mixed reviews on slime with the cost and it clogging up valves. I carry a puncture repair kit and a few essential tools with me and a pump. So far I've never had to repair one. However I usually get a slow puncture with the marathon plus tires and usually wake up to find the bike tire is flat...

Cyclamatic: The Beastamatic is dead! Long live the Beastamatic

Pretty much the same. When I swapped from a 250w to a 350 I didn't think it would be that different. But it's worth the extra investment. I'm back on a 20amp peak controller though. I love the fact it's very quiet which is great for stealth and finally have a setup that matched my speed of...

Can you not just change all the connectors so they match. Least that way you can choose the connections you prefere

Cyclamatic: The Beastamatic is dead! Long live the Beastamatic

Great stuff D8veh. Really good to see pictures and how youve completed the modifications. The 250w motor ok with those kind of levels of additional watts running through it? Suppose as long as the gears hold up and the windings don't melt everything is good! Good to see the size comparison...

    M5 Crash

It takes alot more power to go 80mph rather than 60mph. Just like getting a push bike from 15mph to 30mph takes considerably more effort. Over double the power required due to the effects of drag.

    M5 Crash

If I travel on the motorway at peak times my average speed is around 50 to 60 mph. Unless it's the company car :-) I usually play a game to see how much mpg I can get out of the car! But I'm sad.

sudden battery death or charger malfunction

Like our IT department. Although i'm abusing it right now. Although I get on very well with our IT dept I think its better its unfiltered. Mainly to allow me 2 mins to relax and post rather than run out of focus on other tasks that use the pc. Lets us all know how you get on with the...

    Video with slow speed crash

Brilliant! Made me smile! Crashes I always think are quite amusing so long as you dont injure yourself!

Legality & electric bikes. Does speed matter!

Police haven't even bothered to stop me going through red lights. I thought i'm going to see if they do when they was right behind me. I think sometimes it also helps if it looks like your taking cycling a little more seriously with the proper kit. I used to get more looks when I was wearing...

Building a small A123 Battery Pack

Thats pretty impressive really. I would have thought a failure would have occured much more quickly. I constantly balance lipo. The cells being in parallel seem to help each other support and stay in balance. But the 2 min it takes me to pull the pack apart i'm never that fussed. Don't think...

Building a small A123 Battery Pack

Let me know how you get on with the "Not so" Smart bms. I have a BMS for a 36v setup (10s) that I no longer need but works perfectly. I think that only cost me £5 from Sunlova when replacing my old one. I would like to see how you get on though as your clearly more teccy than myself. I...

Lets Discuss an Ebike friendly sticker campaign........

Sorry maybe I've been a bit vague. I think if businesses realised the actual cost to charge a battery from a mains outlet none of them would be to fussed about you using the socket. No one seems to mind if I fire up the laptop and plug it in. If I was carry a 10ah 36v battery they all might...

Lets Discuss an Ebike friendly sticker campaign........

I like the green Logo it works well. I like the idea of certain stores / shops / businesses promoting the friendly "You Can Charge Here". I don't like the idea of paying for the electric though when it costs 10p to charge a flat battery. Maybe a small donation to a charity would surfice...

Building a small A123 Battery Pack

Thanks D8veh I thought you was using a couple of the cheaper Lipo packs. Reviews of the C rating and total capacity on most sites says they don't deliver the full 20c bust or 15c continous. But as most Ebikes barely pull over 2c (On faster setups) they should be fine. Also pulling the lower...
