    Carrying stuff / Panniers

I like the Raleighs too. Not 100% waterproof but good enough for most occasions.

    Do ebikes burn more rubber?

The last set of tyres lasted about 9,000 miles front and 10,000 rear on a front hub bike. The tyres were Kenda kevlar reinfored. In that time I had one puncture. The tyres were replaced because the tread peeled off. In each case the tyre still held air and i was able to complete my journey...

Bristol-please someone tell us about the bikes.

First. Thanks to Alistair and Atmosphere for organising the event. I enjoyed it. I agree that the test track was very limited but it is understandable that the City Council would want the road for other uses. As for the bikes: Seriously impressed by the Momentum Model T and the Annsmann...

Sticky sprag clutches, can they be saved?

Sticky sprag clutches, can they be saved? With goodwill on all sides I am sure that the sticky sprag clutches have a future. It will, however. require less use of pesticides and ban on the import of the Peruvian smooth sprag clutch, which is ruining its' natural habitat. Make a donation to...

    e-cigarettes

Anti smoking organisations don't, not really, if we did, all of us, they're out of work. I think that is just wrong. The people I met in anti-smoking groups when I was a smoker were deeply sincere in their wish to see an end to smoking, regardless of the personal consequences. There are always...

Actually, it's the character that he chose to play. No-one forced him to take part. Can I have my licence fee back?

    Canal Towpaths open to cyclists

"Angry geese ? wow thats a new one, seems like there is no end to canal path dangers" They're not angry, they're just being playful. Never harmed a fly. Now shut up and let them peck your eyes out:rolleyes:

    36v battery overcharge to 41v

I would expect to get about 25 miles out of a fully charged 36v 9Ah. If you've only been getting 8-9 miles from new I think you should have a word with the supplier. If they are UK based don't be fobbed off with excuses, you are entitled to a working replacement or refund. If they are overseas...

    todays amusement

Sad but true to life. On my way to and from work I see far more bikes strapped to cars than actually being ridden. I sometimes wonder whether some are ever used at all. Possibly just left in car park to establish sporting credentials.

Apologies to Paul. A real Lycra would be training in the chemists the night before.

    Looking for more torque

"the guy riding the bike is a keen amateur cyclist so he should be able to maintain the speed up the hill to reveal max operating torque of the BPM motor." Not trying to sneak an undercover Lycra in by any chance? ;)

You're not Dutch by any chance? Using bikes so constructively is certainly very Un-British and will not be tolerated. :o

Please help me choose which bike

Hi I am 5' 4" on a good day with legs that an estate agent would describe as bijou, but tailors call short - 27" inside leg measure. For my daily commute of 23 miles return I have a Smarta LX8 from Electric Transport Shop. It's a step through and I think that the saddle would accommodate 5'...
