    Topeak D2 Tyre Pressure Gauge

I have a Topeak D2 pressure gauge, an XLC track pump with a gauge built in and an old Smiths all-metal dial pressure gauge that belonged to my father. The Smiths gauge would have been expensive when new (early 1960's) and is capable of being calibrated. The Topeak and Smiths are within 2-3 psi...

TONIGHT 9pm: - E-Bikes: The Battle for Our Streets - Panorama

Meanwhile, it seems that the BBC are not alone in quoting the EAPC laws incorrectly. I had a marketing email from Halfords yesterday, trying to sell "e-bikes", with a link to a page detailing among other things "Ebike safety and legal implications"...

TONIGHT 9pm: - E-Bikes: The Battle for Our Streets - Panorama

Couldn't agree more. We have many "shared use" cycle tracks/footpaths locally, some of which I use as both a cyclist and a pedestrian. When a cyclist I'm appalled at dog walkers with expanding leads and people ambling along with earphones in - all oblivious of any potential cycle usage. I've...

Giant second battery install advise sort

I have two identical Yosepower 36v. 13Ah. batteries. One is 18months older than the other, but still holds a full charge. I alternate them for normal use. For my "long distance" hybrid I have one mounted in the usual downtube position providing the power and the other is mounted on a rear rack...

Very nice indeed! How do you find the steering with virtually no stem? Twitchy?

Sympathetic conversion ideas for Raleigh Clubman from the 80's

This is where many of us started, but in my (admittedly limited) experience in the world of conversions the words "lightweight", "low power" and "uphill" don't belong in the same sentence. Lightweight and low power won't get you up hills very well. Whatever kit you end up fitting, you will...

Sympathetic conversion ideas for Raleigh Clubman from the 80's

The brakes will be hopelessly inadequate.

    Move disc rotor

The spacer your have linked to is nylon. Perhaps an alloy one would be better? I'm thinking that heat from the rotor could soften and distort a nylon one. Plenty of ally spacers on eBay.

    Argos £245 folding Bike Improvements

There wasn't an adapter on the bike. It came with v-brakes but has mounting holes for a disc brake on the frame at the rear. It's because the manufacturer used a common frame for disc or v-brake models. Mine had no disc mount on the fork so I've bought a new one. You may be right - I probably...

    Argos £245 folding Bike Improvements

Inspired by this excellent topic I ordered a set of the Zoom HB100 disc brakes. I did a trial fit of the rear brake before fitting a rotor and stripping off the v-brakes. Unfortunately there was a problem, which I suspect is specific to my hybrid bike's frame. The caliper mount is inside the...

    Help! Battery Mounting Ideas

A bit late now, but you could have saved some money and bought one of these:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116258733433 There are lots on ebay and aliexpress at around the same price. There are also two and four slot versions. I put one on the downtube of one of my bikes to fit a Hailong H1...

    Pendleton Somerby pre 2019

You really should consider doing the upgrade to KT controller and display as well. It will transform the performance of the bike. You'll also be able to add a throttle:- https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/pendleton-esomerby-controller-upgrade.38569/#post-572403

    charging a battery help

This thread has prompted me to take a look at the mains plugs on my three 42v. (for 36v. battery) chargers, all supplied by Yosepower. They are all fused, but one is a 3amp charger which has a 13amp fuse and the other two are 2 amp chargers with 7.5amp fuses in. I've got some 5 amp fuses in the...

Yose conversion kit, help needed please.

This may not be related to your problem, but make sure setting4.2.1 is set to 1 and not 6 (1 magnet only in the motor). It is very easy to inadvertently change this when you enter the advanced settings if you don't hold both "set" and "down" at exactly the same time. I had speed readings way...

Yose conversion kit, help needed please.

I have had two previous faults with Yose kits. In both instances I was asked for a video and duly obliged. I had quick replies back and in one instance a replacement throttle was sent within 3 days FOC. Their service centre is in China so you need to take language and time difference into...

    PSWPower - which 48v G70 battery - or neither?

Thanks for the info. Does your PSW battery have an on/off switch? It's not clear from the web photos. In fact, a lot of sellers seem to inconveniently omit images of the charge socket side!

    PSWPower - which 48v G70 battery - or neither?

Thanks saneagle - more food for thought. I will be making up some cardboard templates to test clearances and potential screw locations when I can figure out how to enlarge to full size the few drawings that I can find on the web. There seems to be a dearth of these around, which is a bit...

    PSWPower - which 48v G70 battery - or neither?

I've done that with the HL-1 bases and although it might help a bit I don't think it achieves much. It provides an extra fastening for the bracket to the downtube, but there are no plastic clips on the side at the controller box end to hold the battery to the bracket (see photo). I've previously...
