    Gocycle...too flash??

Fancy Paintjob Don`t do it, you will spoil it Supermack . You can`t hide a lovely shape like that whatever colour you apply . Think who will buy it if you want to upgrade ? Buy a good lock or chain or don`t leave it in dodgy places .

    Poll and Juvenile riders

EU Rules Flecc I realise now that I have been unkind to our Politicians , they do have our interests at heart . Perhaps I was thinking too much as a Motorcyclist about the rules limiting Mopeds to 28 mph and the fact that you can ride them up to 20 mph at the age of 14 years plus on the...

    Poll and Juvenile riders

Just added my input to the Poll and must admit that I had previously ignored the Topic , usually going straight to Electric Bicycles . Perhaps it`s because of the word which brings up boring thoughts , after all here in Wales we have several of them coming up .They are like buses , none for...

    VW electric folding bike

Bmw C1 BMW produced their C1 Scooter with a harness and as expected on the Continent this machine could be ridden without a helmet . BMW reckoned without the powers that be over here and failed to get their way . It required a helmet here and that`s partly why it failed in the UK . This was...

    for sale used wisper 705SE

Hardly used E bikes Perhaps Flecc they have been bought by older people with too much enthusiasm and money and when they have ventured out on a busy road have been too nervous to continue . I have a 72 year old twin brother and until a few years ago we used to ride our cycles to the local...

Buying at a Dealer vs. Buying Online

Dealer or On-line The point of going to a Dealer is to have the machine assembled correctly and provide some back-up if anything goes wrong . The experience for me was spoiled by a wheelnut that had seen a wrench rather than the correctly sized spanner and tyre pressures that were 20 psi !

Save the Planet ruin your Car Battery

Lidl Battery / Alternator Tester Bought one of these £2.99 testers today and thought I had a faulty one when I tested it on my 50cc Scooter and no LED lights showed . I read the instructions and it won`t indicate battery voltage below 11.5 . Had fun trying it on all the others though .Good...

    Interference with trip computer

GPS Device The only computer I use on my Ebike to log distances covered is the Maplins Holux GPS, which is still in the shop for £49 . It gives you loads of information such as Speed , Max. speed reached , time taken , altitude and less useful stuff such as CO2 and the number of trees saved...

    Top Gear and Clarkson

Clarkson Seem to remember on that jaunt in Vietnam he moaned and whined all the time . The polite expression for him is dickhead as stated .I can`t stand to watch him and the other idiots on that programme , but being a biker I made an exception for the Vietnam one .He`s always professed hate...

    Please Help Me To Choose

Joan`s Bike Joan it looks like a choice between the Batribike Diamond at £899 or the Juicybike Classic at £695 web price or £799 full price. At that price the Juicybike seems to be the winner . If you find that the hills are so steep that it would be cruel on your machine to ride up , you can...

    Please Help Me To Choose

Bike For Joan As suggested the Batribike Quartz would do nicely .It is fairly light , has a low frame for a short person and can be folded . Batribike also do a larger wheeled Dutch style machine and they are beautifully finished . Seven gears are handy if you run out of power , as I have once .

Northern Ireland Helmet Law DON'T CONFUSE ME WITH FACTS

£100 OR £500 Head Streethawk I had the same thing said to me concerning my £100 HJC Full Face Motorcycle Helmet by someone with a £500 Arai . It was before the expensive helmets were found to have come out worse in the Tests than some cheaper ones . Arai protested it was the wrong sort of Test...

Northern Ireland Helmet Law DON'T CONFUSE ME WITH FACTS

Casco Helmets I know we really value our heads but £110 for that E helmet is taking the p** . I only spent £100 recently on a nice HJC Full Face Motorcycle helmet with retractable sun visor . Has someone told them that E machines are limited to 15 mph .Perhaps they have been looking at the 60...

Save the Planet ruin your Car Battery

Trickle Charger and more Boy`s Toys I will try and evaluate it d8 .It might be difficult as the cold/snowy weather has gone .I positioned the panel on the table a metre from the house window on a dull morning and it was putting out 78mA . As I used the car for a 30 mile trip yesterday it won`t...

Trickle Charger After the suggestions of Forum Members , I looked at these trickle chargers and noticed that Maplins had their 2W Solar Briefcase on special offer at £9.99 or half price until the end of February . I bought one today and must admit it`s a nice bit of kit , the leads alone would...

Northern Ireland Helmet Law DON'T CONFUSE ME WITH FACTS

Nanny State The State won`t rest until it`s taxed everything or legislated on the rest . We motorcyclists have been through all of this years ago , so this looks like the start of a campaign on cyclists . The attraction of cycling is the lack of rules and things like tax and insurance and if...
