Can anyone reccommend a shop in central London

Re:Fully Charged, they do have bikes within your price range, certainly from Raleigh, GoCycle & Moustache. Scroll down on this page for instance: https://www.fullycharged.com/e-bikes/bike-type/urban

    Cycling Gear

I've been having panniers bags in the back of my mind for a while now. These jobs from Lidl forced the issue. Used one of them today, it was very easy to fit and allowed me to use the bike for a little shopping trip rather than having to use the car. For £9.99 they are a bargain!

Lost in a sea of options - looking for good bike for hills

Wrong diddly wrong wrong! And I have the step through...:D:D:D:D ...he rode his own bike to accompany me on a five mile route full of hills.

Lost in a sea of options - looking for good bike for hills

LOL...but hopefully I only advise the bike where it is appropriate for the OP :) I don't know the inclines of most of the hills I ride, Strava says 10% which seems about right for most of them and not enough for one particularly nasty little hill on my commute. The bike certainly has no issues...

Lost in a sea of options - looking for good bike for hills

I have the Raleigh Motus Grand Tour which is a super comfortable and well built bike. The handlebars are easily adjusted to change your riding position to more or less upright. The Activeline Plus motor does indeed provide plenty of grunt for the hills and it comes with a myriad of standard...

    Good Ebike Shops- A Guide

I think that is a great idea, Ian at the Raleigh Centre in Poole gave and is giving me epic service.

First ebike: Cube Touring Hybrid One/Hybrid or Reaction Hybrid One or something else?

Don't get me started...I am all too used to "expert friends " who don't have the first clue. The good advice you and others provide here will hopefully give those interested a good start in their research.

First ebike: Cube Touring Hybrid One/Hybrid or Reaction Hybrid One or something else?

...and that's where a decent salesman from a good bike shop comes in. As a salesman myself (a yacht broker), it's not all about getting the sale, it's about giving decent advice. If I was an e bike salesman, I would explain to said fag smoking fat man that it's not range he needs to worry about...

First ebike: Cube Touring Hybrid One/Hybrid or Reaction Hybrid One or something else?

Hi Andy, this was exactly why I posted the figures from my Bosch report. It is a real life synopsis over 750 miles. Unless you are climbing mountains, continuously riding into a gale or using the higher assistance modes all the time, you can realistically expect 70 miles from a 400w battery on a...

First ebike: Cube Touring Hybrid One/Hybrid or Reaction Hybrid One or something else?

Hi, I have the Raleigh Motus Grand Tour which has the Activeline Plus motor and 400w battery. It is an extremely comfortable touring bike with a great saddle and a high level of standard equipment. The Cube's are great as well, I chose the Raleigh for the aftersales support (not that I have...

Help! Very New to this sort of biking

I have been cycling into work throughout the winter, on rainy days I have just been wearing waterproof over-trousers (I wear chinos for work), a pair of Decathlon £15 walking boots, a waterproof jacket, reflective vest, a polyester hat, cycle helmet and gloves. In the summer, my normal work...

Advice on e bike suitability for chronic pain/fatigue

I guess it's fundamentally an electric scooter. I bet if they did choose to build it, the cost would be high as well. Also, as mentioned earlier, you would need to licence and insure the thing. I am not sure in your case that it is the thing you need. If the GP thinks it's a good idea for you to...

    Help! Raleigh strada ?? E6000 + Di2 ?

Hi, I have no experience of the Strada so not going to be much use to you. Have you read any reviews such as the one on EbikeTips? Most importantly, why not take one out on a test ride and see if you like it and matches the comfort levels you need? I have a Raleigh (Motus Grand Tour), and that...

How much drag above 15.5 mph on your crank drive ebike?

I have the Activeline Plus on my Motus Grand Tour. I do not feel anything when the motor cuts off. I believe the Bosch controller reduces the power feed between 15.5 and 16.5 mph so there is no instant shut down. The motor being so quiet, you're given no clues that you are riding on your own...

Advice on e bike suitability for chronic pain/fatigue

Hello! The posts above are all going to give you a good "steer". Cycling is so good for you that I cannot think of another activity (apart from swimming perhaps) that will benefit your conditions more. My advice is to find something which is "sit up and beg" to avoid any bumps in the road being...

    Suggestions for cheapish first ebike

I would have thought that battery would be fine for your needs. I have a Motus Grand Tour (which I know is meant to be the efficient crank motor) with a 400aH battery. I have never dropped below 60 miles range. I predominantly use the Tour level of assist (the 2nd of the four available to me)...

Cube Elly 500 v Raleigh motus

Hi, I have a Raleigh Motus Grand Tour and love it. No issues to date at 730 miles. Both are good bikes, but I rejected the Cube as I chose the local bike shop that would give me better service. Ride both and consider after sales support. I hope this helps!

    Help with bike for commute

I have the Raleigh Motus Grand Tour which seems to have all you require at £2,150. It's really comfortable and equipped with the Activeline Plus motor. On tour mode I get about 70 miles per charge and on my trip computer I am averaging 14.6 mph, not a bad average speed for someone who is not...

going over the 15.5 cut off point

Unfortunately I often have wind (!) to contend with and only a 400 battery, but easily get over 70 miles per charge. You're right about how quiet this motor is, it's very rarely that I ever hear it .
