    The 'next life'?

I always think the Woosh Faro is very light - 16.5kgs with 8 Ah internal battery, 18.5kgs with 20AH external battery

    The 'next life'?

Do you noticed the increased weight when you are cycling ? Or is it when getting the bike out and putting it away When you say poorer handling , is this on corners , loose surfaces ? So the Swytch kit is a front wheel hub conversion ? and the Decathlon 500E is rear hub.

    Why Ride Rad?

Just out of interest, how high could you go without cooling ? (I have a G020 with 48v 15 amp controller which seems fine for me and I don't think I could go any higher because I don't know of a more powerful controller that has a bottom bracket torque sensor input) I did have to introduce some...

48v left- what range left ?

Thanks all, I'd not thought about steep hill battery sag taking you below the minimum voltage cut out. I'll make sure all the hills are on the first half of any long rides ! This was more 'flattish' than a lot of my rides, but even so , it says my elevation gain (on a circular route) was 1300...

48v left- what range left ?

I went for a ride this morning and my battery voltage (measured with multimeter) fell from 54.6 to 48.1 and I travelled 31 miles. If I travelled the same route at the same level of assist, what mileage range would I have left before the battery was "empty" ?

    Help! Legal e-bike kit

I think the 48V Woosh hub is a hub that is manufactured for 48V and also has a very high torque winding, so it is optimised for hill climbing / heavy riders rather than (a very illegal) derestricted top assist speed. There are 48v motors around, with a similar controller power , that probably...

Hi there! Seeking Conversion Kit advice please.

The donor bike doesn't have to be anything fancy - doesn't need to be super light or have fancy gears - the motor makes a lot of more expensive "features" of bikes irrelevant - this was the first thing that came up within 5 miles of me...

Hi there! Seeking Conversion Kit advice please.

My first conversion had rim brakes. I think you will use it much more than you think and it will be a source of constant annoyance having to faff around adjusting the brakes, replacing pads - also as Woosh said it wears the rims - for £50-£100 just get a second hand bike with disk brakes -...

Hi there! Seeking Conversion Kit advice please.

Just one other bit of advice - if it hasn't got disc brakes then buy another donor bike from marketplace / ebay / gumtree - they are dead cheap. Just need disk brakes (can convert to hydraulic if manual), space for the battery on the downtube and conventional (square taper) bottom bracket -...

Hi there! Seeking Conversion Kit advice please.

What's the max current set to on that ? What sort of speed do you go up that hill ? - fast enough to outrun the angry chanting mob :-)

Hi there! Seeking Conversion Kit advice please.

That looks very do-able to me. Bike + rider 130kg ! Done this with nominally 250W 36V 18a XF08C (from Woosh) and nominally 500W 48V Bafang G020 15a. The controller can get a bit hot so I have introduced ventilation holes into the controller bag. Do need to add a bit of peddling effort...

Help! Advice on first E-Bike please

I think £3.5k is a lot - but I'm sure they'd be very nice - I'd be worried about it getting stolen. Two companies that I have had direct experience with are Wisper and Woosh that have very good customer service and support Some ideas...

Disabled cyclist; with one bad choice behind her, needs help with a new bike

I think the rambletta sounds ideal but I think it might struggle with 40 miles range. Would you be able to recharge the battery after 20 miles ? If not maybe a Rambletta with spare battery ?

Disabled cyclist; with one bad choice behind her, needs help with a new bike

I don't think you would put an akm128 on a Brompton The Crusa also has a rear rack battery which , as well as being over the rear wheel is quite high up, which changes the centre of gravity. I think this makes it much more awkward to manoeuvre when you are not riding the bike than a rear hub...

The closet I can think of is https://wisperbikes.com/shop/e-bikes/folding-ebikes/wisper-806-folding-electric-bike-2020/ with full throttle. Bicycle weight 375Wh: 21kg 575Wh: 22kg 700Wh: 22.5kg Disadvantage is rack battery and the OP wanted larger wheels Or full throttle low crossbar tailwind...

Disabled cyclist; with one bad choice behind her, needs help with a new bike

I vaguely remember seeing a review of a gin x e-bikes that was a bit lighter, but don't really know anything about it
