Have to say that my Woosh Gale cheapo folder has stood up to a lot of abuse over the past 3 years. Battery still going strong. All mechanicals fine. A purist would probably turn their nose up at it, but if all that you want is transport, there is no need to pay a lot.

This thread started off as 'Rogue Trader' and 'Duff' deal. So, having heard the facts, where is the Rogue and what was Duff? People have unnecessarily had their reputations besmirched.

If you feel that the trader has not complied with the law, then you need a solicitor. Why mess around? Get proper advice.

Almost an aside, but my local council dump has a pile of discarded bikes that all look in good condition. They go to charity, so the bike parts of that £500 bike are worth about £10 at best. The motor may be good or worn, in any case not worth very much

Not quite so, he says he bought it without keys. Who would do that? We do not know if the bike was stolen or not.

Stainless steel is notorious in the sailing world for suddenly giving way. It suffers from crevice corrosion, which might be what is occurring at the J bend.

if you read my original post you will see that I am speaking from 65 years of experience with spokes, bikes, motorised bikes, motor cycles and my old MG Midget.

I suspect that it is the bend that gives the trouble. I do wonder if the older spokes had a slightly different shape at the bend, or received stress relieving treatment after being bent. It really doesn't matter about some of the explanations given here. I contend that modern spokes are prone to...

Sorry, But I think that as a matter of policy we should not respond to newcomers wanting new keys. It is just too suspicious. If some innocent person has been daft enough to buy something, anything, without keys, Tough.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Somehow the key got lost, so they just decided to sell the bike on ebay
