    Which ebco bike?

Yes, I've got the standard battery. Adding yesterday's trip to today's as I didn't charge in between I did about 13 miles on pretty hilly terrain and had used one bar of battery when I took it off to charge this evening. The Torque will tend to give slightly better battery performance than the...

    Mirrors

I just fitted a bar end Cateye one - no idea whether it's really useful since my key discovery on first outing was that the "factory" tightness is woefully sloppy and the road surface round here jiggled it out of position in no time at all. It needed a cross head screwdriver so it waited until I...

    Which ebco bike?

Thank you kindly! If niandsa is interested in reading it, it's here in the reviews section. Happy to try to answer any questions either there or here.

    Which ebco bike?

Suseka is pretty active on the forum and has recently got a 705SE so she may see this and chime in - maybe send her a pm with any questions if not? I've got the 705 Torque which has the same frame as the SE although many other things are different. The build quality feels very solid and the...

1 pound bike rack bag on amazon

You should be able to see a list of all the ones on offer here - starts with the 48p one and works up.

Well, I've gone and done it...

Quick update on my tyre pressures. It looks as if there was a problem with the tubes. David kindly sorted out some replacements for me, we fitted those yesterday and all seems well. So although keeping an eye is probably a good idea, at least to start off with, hopefully you'll find things OK.

    Trading up

OK, I was hoping somebody with more experience/expertise than me would chip in but so far so quiet. Maybe try asking in the "which electric bike should I buy" bit of the forum and see if you get more response there? The commercial folk who sponsor the forum are limited as to what they say in...

    Trading up

Hello, welcome. Can you say a bit about how you'll use the bike and on what kind of terrain? Folk will be better placed then to understand the recommendation your bike shop is giving you and maybe make other suggestions. I suspect they're both crank drive (I know the Raleigh one is, not sure...

1 pound bike rack bag on amazon

Well no - sales through Amazon Market Place are covered under their guarantee scheme (details here). Whether you'd bother to go through the faff in order to claim back a pound is another matter.

    Newbe Oldie

I think folk who think e-bikes are "cheating" or make you lazy haven't really understood how they work (or tried pedaling one themselves)! You may be putting a little less muscle power into each ride but there's lots of evidence that says e-bike riders get out far more frequently which more than...

1 pound bike rack bag on amazon

Surely that's got to cost more than a quid to post?! It's the bag I've got - too early to tell how long it will last, it's not top-notch but it seems OK, quality-wise - certainly a pound's worth!

    Newbe Oldie

Hello Bob, welcome! Good to hear you're enjoying the bike - hope you're getting some of this lovely weather round your way so you can make the most of it!

Well, I've gone and done it...

I suspect I only remembered having seen it because I ended up doing some jiggery-pokery with a trunk-style bag not long after reading the thread so it sort of cemented it. It only occurred to me after the fact that I may have been having a similar issue as the pannier folk. Glad you're sorted.

    Ebiking lets me..

I got mine to (hopefully) improve fitness level and keep muscle mass in legs that can't walk too far. Being out in the fresh air and greeting other cyclists (not seen any assisted ones yet but give it time) is nice. Unexpected bonus I've only just thought of is that I've been happily cycling...

Well, I've gone and done it...

OK, I asked because the rear rack won't take panniers as-is because of the way the battery slots in. I know from previous discussion on here that there is a convertor though so I thought if you had prior warning you could ask for that and have it along with your bike so you're good to go from...

Well, I've gone and done it...

I confess I was surprised at how quickly they seemed to be losing pressure. Not sure what make the inner tubes are - perhaps David can confirm what's usually on there?

    Food and cycling

Maybe lobbying the BBC would get them to repeat this excellent radio drama. There's a wee clip from it and an interview with Maxine Peake (writer and star of it) and her husband Charlie on Woman's Hour here (click the bit on the graphics bar to jump straight to the relevant section of the...

Well, I've gone and done it...

Hello and welcome! I've just bought the sister bike (the 705 Torque) and am very pleased with it so far. I agree with OldBob on tyre pressures - I find they do tend to go down quickly so it's worth building a couple of minutes into your schedule to top up your tyres before you set off to work...

    Newish rider from Hong Kong

Hello, welcome! I think the current state of play on flying with batteries is a maximum of 100Wh (so basically a laptop). It is possible to get up to 160Wh with airline approval in advance and in a piece of equipment, not as a spare. Anything over 160Wh (e-bike, Segway etc) is not allowed.

Hello and welcome! The Scottish Highlands sound like a perfect candidate for a bit of assistance on the hills. Hope you're getting chance to enjoy some fine weather riding up there at the moment.
