    Accessories - battery bag

It's most likely doing just fine in your rucksack but if you really want something to carry it on its own any time, would something like an insulated bottle carrier do the job? Not sure whether it would be quite long enough (this one for example is 34cm) but the thought crossed my mind so I...

Ok uphill. What about down hill?

If she likes the Kalkhoff and it's otherwise sound, why not just get the brakes upgraded? A decent bike shop should be able to fit hydraulic disk brakes for you if you don't want to tackle it yourself.

    Hello everybody

I think falling off always hurts - it's just that it takes longer and longer to recover as you get older! Enjoy your Cruiser, plenty of lovely scenery round your way to cycle through I should think.

Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

Well done you! As for the nay sayers, maybe the response should be something like "Yes, I've cheated the pharma companies out of some revenue since my medication has been halved".

    Pete's freego.

And a lovely sunny day for it, too! A stop at the cafe may well have been a necessity to prevent dehydration today. Maybe you and Pete could be the foundation of a local ebike club?

    Big bear for charity

That sounds like two happy people and presumably a happy charity, too (very worthwhile cause and probably not high up many people's agenda since mental health is not "sexy"). Hope your new bike is suiting you better Dave and you have fun with the Big Bear, Teejay!

    New Wisper 905 SE Owner

Hello! I've just (today) bought a Wisper, too - looking forward to bringing it home soon although riding it is not real an option for me (the shop is over 100 miles away!). Hope you have lots of fun with yours, looks like we might be blessed with the sort of weather that encourages you out for a...

    New Bike - update

Having now test ridden both I can confirm this feature works a treat: no matter what level of assist you have selected, just open the throttle and keep pedalling and the motor will basically do the work for you - you can feel that you're not putting any real effort in, you're basically just...

    New bike is here!

Oooh, perfect! Pack a picnic and that's a day out sorted for you during the long holidays - bicycle bonding!

    New Bike - update

I think you'll get the 4mph when you're off the bike - it's a "walk assist" function to make it easier to wheel the bike up kerbs etc even though it's heavy. Obviously you can't be turning the pedals if you're walking alongside the bike (not that you want 15mph under those circumstances unless...

    New Bike - update

I think you should be able to do even better than that if you get really tired or breathless - although it's not "twist and go" (it can't be with current legislation) my understanding is that with both the Torque and the SE, you can open up the throttle and as long as you keep the pedals turning...

    New Bike - update

I may be wrong but I'm guessing that the Torque might have the edge on hill climbing ability - one of the key reasons my bike languished unused when we moved here is that there's a significant hill up to our house so even though it's only a mile or so to the village shop it's a mile that's a bit...

    New bike is here!

It sounds like perfect timing to me - unless your caring duties preclude it, you can make friends with your new bike at your leisure and have some fun rather than starting out with "must make" journeys on your commute. Enjoy your summer!

    New Bike - update

Good to hear it's working out well for you! I'm due to try a 705 Torque tomorrow and possibly the SE while I'm there, as well. I guess Norfolk's a bit flatter than Northumberland so it's good to hear you're "down the scale" on both assistance and gears as it means there's extra help still...

    Our ebike race.

The next Hamilton/Rosberg? Looks like you're getting plenty of fun out of having a second ebike around the place!

    Hi from Northern Ireland

Hello! I wonder if you might get more joy if you ask in the Conversion Kits section of the forum? Could be wrong but I suspect conversion specialists are more likely to see it there rather than in the intros section. Let them know what you want to achieve - Nealh's questions above are a great...

    New bike test ride video.

By 'eck but it's flat round your way! Your daughter's intellectual mountains sound like they might at least be providing a bit of landscape interest. Does this mean you're on the look out for bikes for the rest of the family now?

Is buying 500w ebike a good idea to commute through the city?

Just to clarify, it doesn't mean you can't travel at more that 15mph hour if you're riding an eBike, it simply means the motor can't provide assistance above that speed, it's dependent on your leg power.

    Help choosing bikeive

Yes indeed - presumably the racks designed for use on motorhomes take that into account. Glad you found something you liked from the range you were able to try JanB - enjoy!

    Help choosing bikeive

Not sure about "budget" ranges but the likes of Thule do racks rated up to 60kg (and specifically mention suitability for ebikes). Removing the battery first would make the bike 2 or 3 kilos lighter for lifting and maybe a "team lift" is a possibility if there are two of you? Hope you get a...
