    Carrera Crosscity

I'd guess a dead battery but it's a guess without testing it and the charger Main reason is that the battery was left for a year without use. Use it or lose it as they say If one or a couple of cell series have dipped below the low voltage cutoff then the charger won't start. Did you leave it...

    Cirrus Bodyfloat 2.1

Well, maybe it is better than the suntour but I've side by side tested the suntour against the thud buster ....really not a huge amount in it in my view (others are available) Certainly nothing like the price tag would indictate So this thing, if it is better at all, is going to be ever so...

    Best Bodges and useful tricks

Thought it might be useful to have a dedicated thread after my experience today Post yer best emergency bodges here ! What to do when your chain snaps, you’re 4 miles from work, 3 miles from home with no chainbreaker or quick links ? Answer , bodge it. In this I took apart my keys and used...

    Good Battery test Recommendations please

Personally I'd start off low and build up the PAS levels (and I assume the speed /amps too). See how pack performs and watch the voltage sag in particular in the LCD. Worth stopping to check the pack for heat too A few throttle bursts ought to show you how it sags under load. Hopefully not too...

    Wet or dry lube?

Ever so slight tangent.....and showing my lack of mechanical bike knowledge Don't put a new chain on with just some added lube of choice I just did this with a new kmc chain....and good grief does the chain collect muck. The stuff they preserve the chain in the warehouse looks like oily lube...

Stepper bike owner needs a bit more power

Don’t see why not (in theory )but a few questions 1. Which wheel size do you have ? 2. If you just roll the bike forward do the pedal platforms still go up and down ? 3. What is width between front dropouts and rear dropouts 4. Is the front qr or bolt through Answers to above will allow forum...

    Cooper E

Looks a very clean line city bike . Like the styling for this kind of ebike very much But, and a big but for me, integrated battery and motor and controller ? Asking for trouble and difficulty in repairing. And Bluetooth is a bit flaky at best. How will that be when the unit is within a working...

Controller stop working when it rains

Yep, that's me, even once ruined a led panel with water ingress. Though on that occasion it was standing rather than riding I have a hotel shower cap in my bag for my shiny new colour LCD but, even today , can't bring myself to actually use it !

Controller stop working when it rains

Sorry to hijack a little.....but having used for a while I do totally agree. Lasted way longer than any other I've had in the rainy commutes already I do find it a touch easy to hit by accident though. My current daily bike has a wide two way style. I like it but guess it won't last too long

Why a Bafang BBSxx programming cable is a worthy investment!

Totally agree with this. I’ve been able to tweak my 9 pas settings into what works for me given my usage , my bike and gearing

The brilliant (IMHO) Lidl saddles are back.

By way of update I bought one to try Like the look in the shop, seemed good quality for the money Comfort , hmm very middley for me. But such a personal thing My main issue as a commuter is the memory foam topper part seems to act like a sponge and holds water against your bum instead of...

    Bike cuts out

Neal and others are bang on here We need exacts. And to be honest , you need a multimeter ! Anywhere from a fiver to 30 absolute maximum. A Ebikers best friend, trust me Not hard to use. Stick red probe on positive terminal and black on negative. Read number on screen Even if you get that...

    Bike cuts out

Edit - crossed with d8veh. The forum can totally help but need to work with exacts. Your fault description is common but has several possible causes. We need those readings to start the diagnosis
