BH emotion Neo Cross - has anyone tried one?

I think that the ride quality depends on what you use the bike for. A couple of weeks ago, I had a ride on a really top spec bike (Non electric) and on the road could not detect any difference to any other bike I have ridden. This shows that either, (a) I am unsophisticated, or (b) there is no...

    Legal or not?

Not so! There was a case in the old 'clip on' days of someone peadalling a broken down motorised bike. It was held to be a motor cycle even if the engine did not work. Similar case with someone freewheeling a car.

But do they ever intend to try and sell these bikes or is it 'Just a publicity stunt?'

    Any Dutch bike fans?

To me, a Dutch bicycle has a unique look to it. Obviously they make other styles, so now we need to differentiate between 'Dutch Style' and 'Dutch Made'

    Any Dutch bike fans?

Doesn't look very 'Dutch' to me! The wheel base is quite short and I am not too sure it has the sit bolt upright stance that the Dutch like to use. Also, if it is Dutch, why has it got 24 gears?

I said Cycle Path not Psycopath!

Not too sure, but I think that Cycletracks are highways and you should follow the rule of the road, ie keep left. I must say that on the Swansea Bay Cycle Track, I sometimes get cyclists coming towards me, who despite having plenty of room on their side, decide to pass me on my left hand side...

Anyone found a comfortable saddle that doesn't look odd...!?

I am sure that there is something in what Flecc says about the brain ignoring pain signals. The only problem is that it shouldn't. Pain is telling you something. Ask any Urologist about bike saddles. You won't like what you hear. To be comfortable, they have to be a lot wider. Problem is that...

Electric bikes are a "menace to little children and society"

NYC have not banned e-bikes, they are already banned there. All they have done is double the fine and perhaps allow confiscation. As usual, ragbag politicians scrambling for votes have use over emotional scenarios to fool the people. Up until now, it seems that the NY Police were not that...

    Veteran Cycle Club...

That tandem and sidecar takes me back. It was in the 1940s, a school friend told me that his parents had 'Bought a tandem, and it had a sidecar, and he could go in it.' I didn't even know what a tandem was. He took me to his house, and there in the garage was something like that photograph...

Always was a trick question, 'What colour is a Post Office van?' If I remember correctly, some of them had rubber wings.

    Gradients?

Thanks Flecc. Seems the only real way is to use a clinometer. I have made a rather crude one using a spirit level.

    Gradients?

Answering Flecc, I suppose the problem is that over a short distance, the contour lines indicate the land and not anything built upon it. Even so, bikehut suggests a big dip in a hill close to my home which is in fact a steady uphill gradient.

    Gradients?

I haven't had any luck with bikehut. I tried a number of know flat spots such as the roads over the top of dams. Showed a dip of 30-70 feet in the middle of all of them.

What is the future of E-bikes ?

I agree with Flecc and think that if the battery problem can be solved, then scooters will be the way forward. But only if using cars becomes too expensive!!!! The advantage of the Lambrettas and Vespas was that within reason, you could wear ordinary clothing topped up with gloves and a corker...

What is the future of E-bikes ?

I have just been reading 'Motorcycle Cavalcade' by Ixion, pub. 1950 He was there at the start of motor cycling. He tells a similar story to our recent history of e-bikes. At first, manufacturers wanted to build powered cycles, perhaps beefing their frames up a bit. But as the output of the...

    Any ideas how come?

Last weekend I had a ride on a conventional, state of the art racing bike. It was light as a feather and had 27 gears. Frankly, after e-biking, it was appalling! The saddle seemed to be made of cast iron and designed as crotch crushing device. The gears changed very smoothly, it was easy to...
