    Unjustified Posting Attacks

Depends how you all would like to use it?! Would you prefer to let it be a free-for-all or would you like the technical forum to be structured with threads on specific topics? For example, all battery discussion under one topic etc..

    FAQ Section

At the moment, much of my time on the site is being taken up working on a new front-end. Something that is on my list though is to update the FAQ section of the forum. To that end, i'm looking for any volunteers who would be willing to help keep an FAQ up-to-date, it can be a whole section or...

    Welcome!

Welcome to the new Technical sub-forum! This area has been created to allow presentation and discussion of the more complex topics surrounding electric bikes. All new threads should initially be placed in the main forum here. A thread will be moved to the Technical Forum once the general...

    Unjustified Posting Attacks

I must take some responsibility as I've not been policing the forum as much while working on Pedelecs V2. Can I draw everyones attention to the Forum T&C's, particularly: Be nice to each other - no personal attacks on other users. We've done pretty well so far to avoid the descent into...

    Cold And Rain

Hi c_elder and welcome to the forum! I've commuted (approx 20-mile round trip) on an eZee Torq (approx 2,000 miles) and a Cyclone (cheap Chinese import ~5-6000 miles). Both have been ridden through all a British weather could throw at me including prolonged torrential rain. I've never suffered...

    My Torq Story

Hi Scott, if at a convenient time, I'm more than happy to scan in manuals and produce them in PDF format which we could make available on the site (or your own if you prefer). That's an open offer to all retailers.

Hi Daveldo, I moved the thread for you into the main forum as PowaByke do not have a dedicated clinic section.

EZEE Torq for $1400 - free delivery

The person/people behind it were obviously banking on several unsuspecting customers to wire transfer money across into an account. Once they withdraw the cash, they'll be long gone. Using allwhois, the domain is registered with hostgator.com which appears to be a legit hosting company in the...

News: New Forest Electric Bike Rally

Hi everyone, we've put up a small report with some pictures on the main site here. Unfortunately I edited it yesterday to correct a mistake and accidentally deleted it! So after having to spend another couple of hours to re-write it from memory, please excuse any glaring errors! On the day, an...

News: New Forest Electric Bike Rally

We'll have a full report up tomorrow (Richard is away for a couple of days and he has my notes!) although I'll upload some images later this afternoon. We had a great day out, got to meet lots of people and some forum members - Flecc, Flying Kiwi, Daniel and others. I also had a ride on the...

News: New Forest Electric Bike Rally

Hi John, I spoke too soon! We've seen a little rain so far, but nothing on the scale of Presteigne 2007. Yes, a live web feed would be good. Perhaps for the next event, on this occasion I'm glad at least we have a connection (3G).

    Some polling statistics

As many of you have participated in the small polls we are running on the site, I thought it was time to provide some results to date: Q. Do you own an electric bike? Of the 250 people polled, 56% currently own a bike and 40% are considering purchasing one. Q. What is your electric bike...

    Still looking...

I rode mine through all that winter could through at me. I would recommend though, especially with the cheaper bikes, to dry them off with a rag after a ride in the rain. This should help keep the rusting to a minimum.

How many electric bikes do you see out on the roads?

I saw two Sparta Ion's fixed to the rear of a motorhome today.

    Still looking...

Hi Thomas, there have been many bikes around at that price point over the last couple of years. They are Chinese parts-bin bikes, usually bought as a container load and the "company" then soon disappears shortly after they have sold them all. That's not to say these bikes are worthless, you...

News: New Forest Electric Bike Rally

I'm praying for good weather this Sunday! Richard and I will be there, we have a stand on which we will have a couple of PC's connected to the site for live updates throughout the day. It's great to see several retailers in attendance and I'm sure it will be a fantastic day out, we're...

Andrew and all, I've modified the Battery FAQ forum permission to allow posting of new threads so you can now start and reply to specific battery topics. We'll see how it goes for a while.

    Waterproofs & Wet Bum Syndrome

What kind of material are your 'waterproofs' John ? Also check to see if the seams have protection. I find many of the cheaper fabrics aren't waterproof, just water resistant. I use E-Vent (similar to top of the range goretex) and have been in some torrential downpours without any water...
