    Faulty TBK-74AD 36V 250W Motor

How do you pull the rotor out, the large aluminium plate\disk on the non-gear wheel side does not want to move.

    Faulty TBK-74AD 36V 250W Motor

I have been given a TBK-74AD 36V 250W Motor wheel for a Brompton, it was faulty. Rather than rotate, it just stutters. Even if the motor is not fixable, I have a spare rim and spokes. I took the motor out of the hub and the fault seems clear, at the point the wires feed from the central black...

    Swytch,...... what can I say

I have the black bag Swytch conversion for a Brompton. The motor wheel from that kit works just fine with a standard KT controller and LCD4 display I have on my DIY converted Brompton. The connectors on in the black bag are not the same size (smaller) than the Julet style connectors on a...

36V Bosch tool battery for e-bike use

Well, wheter you do that could be influenced by what type of managment is inside the batter pack. If the batteries have a full internal BMS with voltage and temperature cut off then its probably OK.

36V Bosch tool battery for e-bike use

What is perhaps important with these Bosch 36V batteries is working out how to persuade a standard type eBike controller to cut-out if the battery gets too hot. The 6Ahr batteries appear to have a BMS but there is little to suggest that the battery itself has a low volt or high temperature...

36V Bosch tool battery for e-bike use

I found a schematic which shows the combination of the ALl3640CV 36v charger connected to a 10S2P 2.6Ah battery. The centre connector is clearly labeled BUS (K2) and from the schematic it does appear to be how the battery communicates with the charger. But also shown is a switch SW2 which...

36V Bosch tool battery for e-bike use

The spring is in a plastic enclosure in the top of the battery, presumably to stop it shorthing the two leafs of the central connector. Maybe the spring is there to put pressure on the release catch and stop the battery moving around.

36V Bosch tool battery for e-bike use

The manual for one of the 36V SDS powertools says this about temperature monitoring; Temperature Control Indicator The red LED of the temperature control indicator 19 signals that the battery or the electronics of the power tool (when the battery is inserted) are not within the optimum...

I was just using have something similar, its a flexible glue used for sealing wires and the like. A dab of that under the nylon penny washers securing the bag of the bag to the bracket should seal the surface nicely.

36V Bosch tool battery for e-bike use

Maybe if the battery goes out of balance the 'controller' senses that and somehow uses the central connector to flag an error to the charger or tool, which stops the battery being used or charged. The key is to look at a charger, is it able to read a signal put out on the top leaf of the...

Checking cable routing I needed to be sure the cables for display, brake and motor can be routed to the bag. On a non-folding bike this is not normally an issue, but on the Brompton the cables need to be routed in such a way that the rear wheel can fold underneath and the steering tube can fold...
