Cycled around the world in 79 days!

Most I've done in 24 hours was 328 miles and I was a mumbling mess til I got some sleep! 240 miles per day for 79 days is super human, god only knows how his body can withstand that sort of punishment.

Transporting ebikes when towing a caravan

Thanks for all your input guys, will try packing the bikes carefully inside first to see how we get on. Have thought about a rear Swift carrier at back of van but am a bit nervous about not being able to keep an eye on them whilst towing. Nice outfit you have there Bear, no problems with nose...

    Giant Dirt E+2 2017

Hi David, enjoyed reading your post. I too started with a Giant Dirt e2, it's a great bike and only changed it cus as a touring/ road bike rider for many years wanted something more road orientated. I sold it to a friend of mine who has made a good job of fitting guards and a rack and sometimes...

Went today, good show, enjoyed it. Tried a Reisse and Muller out on the track. Quite impressive. They favour the new Bosch units, are they that much better than the Yamaha's?

    Battery hire?

Yes, all interesting points guys. Recharging on route can be a bit hit and miss if out in the sticks and sitting around in pubs and cafes waiting for recharges can be a bit of a pain. And of course need to look at it from the dealer's point of view, not a lot of incentive for them financially...

    Battery hire?

Hows about individual dealers offering a battery hire service for their customers for when they wish to complete longer distance tours? A reasonable refundable deposit and daily hire could be charged and a battery prebooked in advance. Those dealers with multiple sites could offer a variety of...

    Pannier recommendation?

    Haibike Trekking/Cross?

I used a conventional cable lock of pretty good quality, but yes I suppose anyone with boltcroppers could have cut through it. It's always a risk but I've used the pub before and it was around towards the back not near the entrance. Is a rural location so thought it ok especially cus I had taken...

    Switched to Haibike SduroTrekking

The 500 mile point appeared on the odometer as I was heading south towards Buxton from the Glossop area. The weather was attrosious with non stop rain and high winds, not just normal rain but stinging your face rain and places where the road turned into a stream. I had made my way up to Hadfield...
