    Lost key. How do I open the battery lock?

    Use jiggler keys. Once the lock is open, you can dismantle it and remove the tumblers so that you can open it with any key, knife or screwdriver, which will save you from having to buy another lock.

    Lishui Controller Modification - Firmware Flash Project

    The normal KT software gives absolutely constant power on any level, regardless of speed, except when the back emf is enough to reduce the current. I showed that on the chart I provided in a post above somewhere. Can't you chuck out all what's in your software and make it like that? That's the...

    All carbon DJI Velduro Rogue to be Distributed in the UK by Sevenoaks Bikes. (Wisper)

    I've got two. Did your hear that I got a second one for £100. It was an Argos return - nothing wrong with it except the missing charger and a broken mudguard. I have loads of chargers. If you want it you can have it for £100 plus shipping.

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    You should get a freewheel motor kit, then you don't need to change anything. https://www.yosepower.co.uk/collections/e-bike-conversion-kit/products/e-bike-conversion-kit-36v350w-26-27-5-28-rear-motor-for-freewheel-with-36v13ah-hl1-battery Freewheel motors are better than cassette ones because...

    All carbon DJI Velduro Rogue to be Distributed in the UK by Sevenoaks Bikes. (Wisper)

    Yes, same for me. My £245 Argos ebike just doesn't cut the mustard anymore. I'm not going to pay the £8,799, though. I'm waiting for Wisper to offer a discount on it. I asked for £10 off, but got no response. I'm patient. Sooner or later the market for it will be saturated with those bikes, then...

    Chain Query

    Reminds me of when I had pneumonia. Twice, I went all round the bedroom looking for the loose plug that was making that electrical crackling sound, then, back in bed for the third time, I realised that it was coming from me, so had to get dressed at 01:00 am and a taxi to the hospital. I didn't...

    My New Build

    Yes. I've bought stuff from them and been impressed with the service. Chinese 20" wheels are always 406mm, but it's just as well to check. I converted a Raleigh 20 that had 251mm rims and rim brakes. 45mm difference is massive. Unfortunately, I didn't realise the problem until the wheel was...

    Chain Query

    Some freewheels are very loud. Others are quiet. If loud ones go quieter, it's because they need attention, like lubrication. If you don't clean and lubricate a freewheel, dirt acuumulates between the motor and the gears, which causes drag on it. That makes the gears turn, which turns the chain...

    Old photos

    IIRC, Gocycle said the chain would last the life of the bike, but I guess it depends how much it gets used. It is a nice solution though - a lot cheaper and easier than a belt, and a lot cleaner. Those Gocycles go pretty well too. The motor is bespoke and tiny, but they can handle enough power...

    this is me

    Your weight, fitness, the hills you have, the distance you want to go, how much shopping or other stuff you want to carry and how hard you want to pedal all have a bearing on what sort of ebike you want to build. Bear in mind that you don't need expensive lightweight stuff when you have a...

    My New Build

    Did you notice the on/off power that I mentioned above? I don't get the problem with the rim. You asked for 406mm, they confirmed 406mm, 406 mm arrived, but you can't use it?

    Hydraulic brakes 2 pin sensors

    They're all over Aliexpress. The 2-pin ones have a red connector. I can't say which ones work the best. If you want branded ones, they're a lot more expensive than the Aliexpress ones and probably fake anyway...

    Brompton Blues

    I don't hate crank-motors. I use one about three times a week. I'd rather have an ebike with a crank-motor than a bike with no motor any day. They work, but not as good as hub-motors. If I do an object comparison, I'd say crank-motors are more expensive, give a worse ride, they're less...

    Brompton Blues

    Hub-motors can out-perform crank-motors up hills. You can't generalise. Remember, the 250w Heinzmann cargo hub-motor system can drag 500kg up a 16% hill. Yours can't do that.

    Old photos

    I found an old SD card with literally thousands of my old ebike photos on it. Some of them were for projects I posted on here, and there were lots of other interesting ones too. Here's an ebike I spotted in the town centre. A couple of things stand out to me. It seems to have a cable operated...

    I guess it's one better than a front hub-motor, so it's not as bad as it could be.

    Help! Jorvick 24 trike / throttle

    Sometimes you can re-balance by leaving it on charge for a long time. I don't understand what your problem is. I'm totally confused. If you don't have a charger, how do you know that the battery has enough charge in it to work? It's really difficult to give specific advice. You need to charge...

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    I'm going to bet that they say no, then recommend that you buy one of their ebikes, like the Subway, Vengeance or whatever they have in stock.
