    My New Build

    9 times out of ten, I've done nothing to the settings, but since the police have started cracking down, I wanted mine to be completely legal, so set p4=1 and c4=3 gives 4 mph start assist plus throttle acts as a power boost to give instant level 5 when you press it, which saves a lot of messing...

    Help! Jorvick 24 trike / throttle

    When you leave a battery standing for a long time it can go out of balance because in many cases the BMS needs power to check whether the battery is still OK to give power. Sometimes, it takes the power from only one of the ten cell groups, so that one goes down to a level that prevents the...

    My New Build

    We hope that you're happy now. I'm sure you will be. If you're not happy with the KT controller, you can send it to me and I'll reimburse every expense associated with the purchase and shipping to me. I would never advise anybody to do anything that might put them in a detrimental situation, and...

    Brompton Blues

    What we need is a confirmation statement on the forum enrolment page. As well as "I have read the terms....." there should be another tick box, "I promise not to make any posts until I confirm that I have checked my motor connector and it definitely reaches the line on the outer connector". Of...

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    I don't want to tell you what to do. I just give advice from my own experience. Many people do all sorts of things with all sorts of bikes and say they're happy with the results, partly because of their blissful ignorance. The way I see it is that if you're going to do such a project, it's...

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    You should always get a throttle with a KT controller. Remember, you can set it to be completely legal, and it's extremely useful in many circumstances. It's one of the best features of a KT system, and it doesn't make sense to omit it. Also, I always recommend the block connector versions of...

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    His fork is light alloy and it has a Q/R axle, so will need filing to fit a motor. A front motor wouldn’t be my choice on a bike like that. As well as safety and installation issues, you can get weird steering afterwards, depending on the steering geometry. You don't find out until after the job...

    Wisper Tailwind

    The cheaping from the back is probably the disc touching the caliper. You can determine that by holding on the brake slightly to see if the noise changes. If that's what it is, loosen the two screws that hold the caliper to the adapter, hold the brake on hard and retighten the screws while...

    GB News article

    I'm not subscribed, so I can't read the article directly. The gist seems to be that we're not buying many ebikes compared with other European countries. As far as I can remember, that's always been the case. If any of you are subscribed, post your comments. The headline seems to defeat itself...

    It's the same stuff. There's nothing to stop you removing it all with tools, then putting it back on again if you want to check it out and know what the bits are.

    compatible batteries for Jorvik jet e

    I've used them several times to unlock batteries. You need to figure out how they work in order to have success. The first one gave up easily. The second one wouldn't open because I wasn't doing it right until I figured it out. The third one took a lot more jiggling than the first, but was...

    Help! Jorvick 24 trike / throttle

    Standard Tigershark battery that you can buy anywhere. I gave a link in the other thread. BTW I've never seen or heard of one of those batteries leaking. In the old days, some cells would leak, but not enough to come out of the battery. I suspect that water has got in and is finding its way...

    Swytch Max++ Rear wheel kit

    With the additional weight and speed of the ebike kit, rim brakes wear through the rim, then you need a new motor wheel or have to rebuild it with a new rim. I don't know how many times people come on here with their unpowered bikes, and they argue about how they're happy with their rim brakes...

    The wiring is sometimes different, so always best to buy everything together unless you don't mind rewiring connectors.

    Chain Query

    Maybe the freewheel was jammed by dirt so it didn't freewheel when you pushed the bike and the pedals and chain rotated. Now the pedals stay still and the freewheel is working properly. It's impossible to say without knowing what the noise is.

    My New Build

    Post #4. Check the sizes to be sure. You should be able to fit battery controller and everything in there. You would need to make sure that the battery is held stationary in it with straps, brackets or packing - same as any bag battery.

    My New Build

    That's a shame. The Lishui ones are crap, especially on a bike with small wheels. You can't control the power, and it becomes like a moped. I get that every time I visit my sister and borrow her Woosh Rambletta. Whatever level you select, the bike goes straight up to that speed with full power...

    My New Build

    I don't buy batteries from China. It's more convenient to get them from Greenlance, Yose and PSWpower, who have European warehouses. If I wanted to fit a battery on the steerer tube, I'd use the Aliexpress bag, which is a lot nicer and has a ready-made bracket for £2. At most, you have to...
