    Captions?

Pah! Those new fangled cars will never take off. Bikes are the future.

In that case, you don't want a torque sensor. A bike with a simple pedal sensor would suit you much better. On both of my bikes, as long as you're turning the pedals, the motor will give you full power and take you along flattish roads with no effort from you. That is more like a throttle. A...

Do you prefer the crank drive over the hub drive? I've never tried a Kudos eiger but i think the Typhoon will go up hills as good. Have a look at http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/the-great-scottish-ebike-hill-climb-challenge.18165/ I wrote it tongue in cheek after a hill climb...

Crank drive - mid-drive vs. hub motor (Woosh Big Bear / Krieger)

I have 2 hub drive bikes and my wife has crank drive. Neither type feels like a moped. The crank drive just drives the chain which turns the wheel, the hub turns the wheel direct. The pedals on both systems are secondary. On my 3 bikes, you can sit and turn the pedals slowly and the motors still...

    Gadget Show tonight

I never said she should have won the race, I said she was in too high a gear. She was struggling to pedal and looked like she needed to go down a gear or two. I'm not a great fan of Gadget show anymore. What was the point of putting a bike that's restricted to 15 mph up against a bike that...

    Gadget Show tonight

In most of the video, she looked like she was in too high a gear and not looking comfortable at all.

I hope you missed the hailstones. I went through Linlithgow about 12ish and there were hailstones. :) At least you've now got an idea of what you want in an ebike.

ebco ucr 30 at halfords 40-50miles range??

I've got 2 ebikes both with 10ah batteries. On the Tourer I will get over 30 miles with no problem. I'm usually always in power level 5. I live in a hilly but not mountainous area. On one memorable occasion, I managed 45 miles on one battery. That was on a lovey warm summer's day. I used level 4...

    Opinions Please.....?

According to their website, they're open 11 to 4 on a Sunday. If you're going through, it would be best to phone first to make sure he's there. The guy who runs it is brand new but he sometimes is out dropping off hire bikes at the Falkirk wheel or the Helix park. Linlithgow isn't a bad place...

    Opinions Please.....?

Which side of Glasgow do you live? If the East side then it wouldn't take long to travel to Linlithgow where there's an ebike shop which hires ebikes. You'd then get an idea if you like an ebike and an idea of how heavy an ebike is. I'm sure (but not certain) that he'll refund the hire cost if...

    The Americans are coming

I checked out their site about 5 minutes after you posted it. :) I don't actually like the style of these bikes. As to the power of them, in the video about their motors they say it's 750w. I liked the bit about the regen function but I'm not sure how much charge it would give the battery...

    Bike Shop Design

As has been said: Prices on show, not all crammed together and knowledgeable staff. I also prefer a place where you can park. I hate city centre places that you can't park near. Being an ebike shop, a lot of your customers probably travel a fair distance, parking is always welcome. Since...

    Best bike for hills?

It sounds like something is amiss with the pedal sensor. When the pedals are turning the motor should be working until the 15mph cut out speed. If you're below that speed the motor should always be assisting you.

Can someone recommend a decent mini pump please

I did say why, in my first post on this thread. ;) It worked fine a few times, then when pumping up my tyre, the flexible connection just blew off the end of the pump. The threads in the pump are plastic and rubbish. The threads on the connector are metal and good. The pump, whilst it...

Can someone recommend a decent mini pump please

The one I linked to is only £14.95 + £1.89 shipping. Give it a try if you like. It seemed like a good idea, having the flexible connection and stuff. Maybe I was just unlucky but mine is now kicking about in my garage I think, I've not seen it for ages.

Can someone recommend a decent mini pump please

Here's a link to the Lezyne I bought. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005X7758A?keywords=Lezyne Hv Drive Pump Small&qid=1429567240&ref_=sr_1_2&sr=8-2 I do not recommend it at all.

Can someone recommend a decent mini pump please

I use a Crivit mini foot pump when out on the bike. I've got two which I bought from Lidl. When in the at home I use a track pump which I bought from Lidl. (I see a pattern) I also bought a Lezyne mini hand pump last year, it was the most expensive pump I've bought. It worked fine for a couple...
