    Self driving e-bike

There will be someone along shortly to point out its not an EAPC since you don't have to pedal it. They will then post links to mopeds ;)

    kudos Typhoon power loss

The thumb throttle only goes to walking pace when used alone. If, when you're in a low power setting and pedaling, pressing the thumb throttle will give full power and speed as if you were in power level 5.

    Schwalbe Smart Sam Plus

I decided to buy one Schwalbe smart Sam plus for my Typhoon. I stuck it on the rear since that's the hardest to fix a puncture if you need to take the wheel off. I've done about 100 miles with it and must say, I like it. It rolls smooth and more importantly, it's quiet. The standard tyres whine...

    Attitudes to ebikes.

These were young men who were cycling 50 miles. I'm too old to roll about with young chaps. ;)

    Attitudes to ebikes.

Today was the annual Glasgow to Edinburgh ride. I was in amongst it for about 15 miles. On one hill leaving a village I overtook every bike on the hill. The road then undulates gently for a few miles. On this part I became aware of 2 cyclists alongside me, close and keeping pace. As we reached...

Advice re up to £1K bike please. Folder or Normal ok.

Both of my ebikes are geared for much higher speeds than 15mph. Pedaling them above the cut out speed isn't too hard. They both have full size wheels which probably help though. I've never been on a 20" wheeled folder so I don't know if they're all like that. What it does show though, is that...

How many gear did that bike have?

Torque and Rotation (Cadence) Sensing - Clarification Question

Terry, you have a couple of choices: 1st, try a few different types of Ebike, with torque sensor and with pedal sensor. Then choose the one you decide is best for you. Try them up long hills and see how you get on. 2nd, fix your Kawasaki, it might be easier. Ignore the poster who...

Hello from Herefordshire (& any comments re these 3 bikes?)

Looking at Kudos website, the secret seems to fold down well enough. One thing I'd say though is, whichever bike you buy, a set of folding pedals might be a good investment since you're sticking it in a romahome. They're not expensive and make a big difference when putting the bike in tight...

    New Gtech ebike

You couldn't sell me a bike, electric or non electric, with a single gear. If I put either of my ebikes into a gear which is comfortable to climb hills, it won't be comfortable to go fast on the flat roads. If I'm on the flat and put the bike into a gear which is comfortable to go fast on the...

Torque and Rotation (Cadence) Sensing - Clarification Question

I personally think a simple pedal sensor would be best for you, but only you can know. Try a few ebikes of both types and see how you get on. My Kudos Typhoon has a pedal sensor so gives full power by simply turning the pedals. It would, if I wanted, carry me up a 7% slope with no effort...

Torque and Rotation (Cadence) Sensing - Clarification Question

I like that. Sadly though, it won't have any effect on the saddo who appears to dislike disabled people on ebikes.

    Let's keep the throttle!

If your bike has a pedal sensor it will give full power when you turn the pedals slowly, so if you're able to turn the pedals you don't really need the throttle. Some people though, are unable to turn the pedals so need a throttle. If some old guy doesn't want a throttle that's fine, it's his...

    3 gears and 7 gears?

Are you serious? Have you ever ridden a hub bike?

    3 gears and 7 gears?

First off, the OP needs a proper test of any bike she is thinking of buying. Next, I'd advise her to get lots of gears. I've got 24 on the Typhoon and use 16 of them most times I'm out. Having lots of gears means you can make a slight ratio change when climbing a hill which keeps the cadence...

    Summer has arrived......at last!

OK, up here in the frozen North, Summer has come. I did 25 miles on the Typhoon, mostly along the canal. The warm weather brings out every cyclist, dog, walker and weirdo. They all seemed to head for the canal. I think the tow path needs to be extended so it's 10' wide. Anyway, I enjoyed...

    Let's keep the throttle!

You obviously missed the word 'still' in my post. You've been at it for more than a year.

    Let's keep the throttle!

I see you're still on your anti disabled trip. It's quite easy how the disabled people on mainland Europe manage, they don't ride ebikes. The fact that YOU don't want a throttle does NOT give you the right to dictate to the rest of us.

Using bike as static fitness ride in Winter

Living as I do, in a country where it's winter for 11 months of the year. I bought this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tacx-T1000-Antares-Rollers-Trainer/dp/B001VRJ4RG/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1438519842&sr=8-17&keywords=tacx It works with my ebikes and my normal bike. It's like riding on a flat road...
