Arrgghh why doesn't anyone make good thumb throtttles

I think this is worth an update after 9 months (ok, I promised 6) Update is - throttle is perfect, not a hint of issues I had all the time with collar versions Plenty of cold and warm rainy commutes. All good I won't buy anything else unless I'm seriously persuaded!

Different bikes effect on Battery performance

I echo d8veh experience but with generic Chinese cells vs Samsung . Used on same bike for two years each on identical 15 mile commute (and data backed up by GPS logger (strava)) I got much less sag and about 20% greater range with Samsung

Planning my bbs build - California chainring adaptor vs bling ring

Whilst waiting on my bbs kit I'm thinking about chainring options I've come across something called a California chainring adaptor which allows any standard 104 bcd ring to be used Anyone used one or similar ? Better than going for a lekkie bling ring ? How affect chainline ? Interested in...

    Light tuning?

Must admit , interested to know why for the money I have one, as long as powered by decent cells, it's amazing . Two of those is enough for anything I used on a 24 hour enduro through woodlands in pouring rain. No question of not being able to see enough

    Winter gloves

I thought of this...and tried it but my bars are 18.6 mm internal diameter. So the buggers won't fit (yes I know 18.5mm cells but with any insulation wrapping and any connection wires it doesn't fly) My proof of concept was to hook up to the insides of a cheapo usb back up battery (poundland...

Thumb throttle .... push up or down to accelerate

I have both ! Always lhs but up on my proper off roader and down on my commuter. I find it’s easy to nudge the down by accident on the bumpy off-road stuff and throttle on when not wanting it. But maybe that’s just the result of my bars/brakes/setup

    Electrical problem

I'd suspect one of three things. All of which would need testing to ascertain but they are 1. A duff charger. Check the charger output with multimeter and post it here. 2. Duff battery (or cell string/s) Which bring the pack down. To test charge batteries till full. Check with multimeter and...

    Beer

Been away a few days. Lots of great beery comments and a few for me to try Big fan of the longman brewery. Their actual location is stunning piece of Sussex countryside I'm also first on their list when brewery tours happen. Been asking for about 5 years :) Had a cracking cask ale by vibrant...

    Beer

I'm a beer lover, particularly ale . Guess it comes from spending formative years way further north than Shoreham by sea. Lager was never an option ! So my ale loving predates the craft ale and ale revolution / revival But I do love some of the newer styles as well as classic English bitters...
