Change of PSI changed my biking life!

I use Marathon Pluses too and run them at 55-60 PSI (I do mainly off road on riverbanks and cycleways). 55 PSI for front, 60 for rear. I have a nice cheap little hand pump (that has dual action and gets them up to that very quickly). Go Outdoors Cheap Dual Action Hand Pump Not sure how high...

    Who's to blame?

Parking a bike under a coat rack doesn't seem like a great idea to be honest. Is there really nowhere else you can put it? If not then I think you might need to buy a chain guard or otherwise cover the bike when parked. And yes, I'd pay for the damage to the coat if it was my bike (assuming...

    Ebike under 700£

Also it depends on speed and outside temperature. If your commute is pretty flat with nothing over say 8% elevation hills, any ebike should get you there at this time of year without breaking a sweat if you are prepared to toddle along at say 10mph. On the other hand if you want to do 16mph+...

    Bosch motor system life expectancy

    Any particular grease you'd recommend?

    Bosch motor system life expectancy

I run the 47mm touring tread version for extra grip, at 55+ psi.

    Bosch motor system life expectancy

+1 for Marathon Pluses (slimed). Although I do still carry a small pump and puncture repair kit.

    Bosch motor system life expectancy

As long as you keep them dry, electric motors are incredibly reliable. And even if a 500W/hr battery drops off 20% over 2 years. that's still a 400W/hr battery (which on the ALP will let you go as far as most other 500W/hr batteries anyway in practical use). CX motors seems to be able to last...

    New e-bike owner

OK. An update. Reached 1000 km on the odometer. Have started to commute to and from work when the weather is dry (Stockport to Manchester city centre and back), almost all off road on cycle paths. 20km each way, which takes an hour give or take 5 mins. Fortunately at work I have a lift I can...

Cube Elly Ride Hybrid - test ride? Views?

Spec is here: https://www.cube.eu/en/2019/e-bikes/trekking/comfort/elly/cube-elly-ride-hybrid-400-aquanorange-2019-easy-entry/ Looks a little overpriced if I'm honest though it is quite pretty in retro lady's bike way. Kit is in line with Cube Touring 400 and you can get those for £1500 or...

Anyone dealt with Electric Bike Sales?

Hold on - criticism of a seller, their products or support is fine of course. But here a person purports to join the forum not because he wants assistance or is interested in electric bikes but simply to badmouth an established member. He is stalking Wisper on social media, picks an abusive user...

Anyone dealt with Electric Bike Sales?

I think the mods should change the troll name personally or just ban him. Someone who joins this community for the single purpose of having a pop at a well respected member and thread hijacks is adding nothing to it.

    £2000 Hybrid (or under)

I also own a Cube and if you search my name on youtube you can see a couple of recent videos I've put up about it. I do weekend tours with it and currently commute 40km to work and back on it each day. They are very solid bikes and probably the best value of the 'brands' up to £2k if you are...

Cube Touring Hybrid One 500 2019 or Cube Touring Hybrid 500 2019

I was looking at bike racks as well today. Looks like the towbar Thules are ok up to 20kg per bike, which should be the weight of the Cube without the battery. I wouldn't worry about dropping the bike and damaging the Intuvia. Unless it does a full flip it isn't going to land on the Intuvia...

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

I use kph. I think on the ALP you get full power assist up to 25.5kph (15.8 mph) and then 50% assist up to 26.9 kph. Actually once over 26.5 kph it might cut down to 25% as it seems to only give me one bar over that speed. Then it cuts off at 27 kph (16.8 mph). That seems to be more or less how...

Cube Touring Hybrid One 500 2019 or Cube Touring Hybrid 500 2019

UK plug on mine. Yes, the thing is built like a tank. Done 800 km now on mine and literally not even had a squeak (well apart from when I got oil on my brake pads!) And the 47mm tyres and suspension on front and seat post means a comfy ride even across the cobbles and various dodgy surfaces...

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

So ALP total system weight is 6kg, X35's 3.2kg. So ALP system is 2.8kg heavier, but 25% more torque and twice the battery.

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

What the Orbea battery weight then for 250? 1.4kg or so?
  19. A

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

I thought the relative motor and drive train weights for the X35 (2.3kg) and the ALP (3 .2kg) took that into account already? Isn't it all in the one sealed unit for the ALP? And the Bosch battery, being twice as big, adds 1 kg difference too, of course.

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

Weekend weather looks OK though :) What is a little odd is that the Neo (18.5kg) is 5kg heavier than the Gain (13.5kg) but the difference in battery and drive/motor weights is responsible only for about 2kg of that. So I wonder what else accounts for the other 3kg?
