    Torq Motor Jammed

Hi Jo, I have had the bike for almost 2 1/2 years, used it every day and done just under 10 000 miles. I do confess that this includes a lot of stop starts and I am probably guilty of being lazy and using power rather too early when pulling away.

    Torq Motor Jammed

Thanks Flecc. To your knowledge would the Torq 2 wheel be a 'plug and play' replacement or would that involve controller etc. Closely related, is the Torq 2 motor a better motor and therefore the one to go for other things being equal?

    Torq Motor Jammed

Many thanks both - this is what I feared. I will take the thing to bits on Sunday and have a look.

    Torq Motor Jammed

Hi All, I have a jammed front wheel on my Torq 1. First thought was the hall sensors as before it froze up it was making a noise like a man building a shed. Cleaned the connections etc, but no solution. When the bike ground to a halt the motor sounded like it was whirring round quite happily...

New electric bike promises 20mph to speed!

Yes, the confusion seems to be in the mind of the journalist.

    CrampBuster on an X-bike throttle

I use this for long distance work on my (very modern) Triumph 1050 Sprint ST with no problems at all; it simply allows you to relax the wrist and use the weight of your palm to hold the speed you want. It does take a little getting used to at first but if you release your grip it snaps back to...

    Wisper 905/Kalkhoff

I think the phrase, 'The neural processing technology has a two-way process for learning/teaching which sequential based processing systems cannot access at present,' is enough nonsense for me. It will be interesting to hear an explanation as to why this thread shows up on a search in due...

    Electric Car Confusion

Hi Flecc, I agree, though carting a heavy petrol engine around is not ideal. Hydrogen still seems to be the more aesthetically pleasing solution if the technology can be developed further. However, if cold fusion can be harnessed . . . . . . . . Another idea would be to have battery...

    West Midland - Dealers?

Easy Rider has closed I'm afraid. I didn't know that Stan Jones did e-bikes so that is interesting. I will pop in next time I am in town.

    West Midland - Dealers?

Hi John, Have a look at this map and click on 'Dealers, Suppliers and Repairers' towards the top left hand corner. Not too many at the moment so if anyone reading this knows of more, please let us know.

The best pedelec (for me anyway)

Hey, don't knock 20%. That is almost twice as steep as Richmond Park? :D Seriously though, it looks great. I would be interested to know why you chose it over the other bikes you tested.

What e-bike to buy? Advice sought, please.

Try this OK, so it isn't an Alp, and no more than a gentle incline by Shropshire standards, but it isn't bad for London.

"Helmetless cyclists must share blame for injuries, rules judge"

Yes, particularly silly comment. Presumably she wants VED band A cars (such as the VW Polo Bluemotion 1.4 Tdi, for which no tax is payable) to drive in the gutter and only be six inches wide.

"Helmetless cyclists must share blame for injuries, rules judge"

I think the first comment following the article sums it up for me: "By the same token, then, this cyclist was completely to blame for his own injuries because he wasn't sitting in a car and therefore protected by a steel safety cell. He probably wouldn't even have been injured at all. So...

A place where you can try lots of differnet bikes

It was a mechanical fix (replace front wheel rim and spokes), but they weren't phased by the fact that it was electric. Worth a call perhaps.

A place where you can try lots of differnet bikes

Hi Alan, Good to see Flecc sorted the first part for you. Regarding the Torq repairs, Presteigne is under 20 miles from Bishops Castle. Closer to home, I took my Torq to Dave Mellor at the bottom of Port Hill Road in Shrewsbury. They did a good job at a good price. See the map for contact details.

Yep, went past it this evening and it has closed. :( Such is life.
