Hi Carol, The maximum legal assisted speed for an electric bike in the UK is 15.5 mph: once the bike reaches that speed the power cuts off. Of course it is perfectly legal to go faster than 15.5 mph on an electric bike - provided you are not getting any help from the motor to do it. Chris
