    Recommendations for Electric Bike Insurance

It's not a loophole - it's the law as written, which is why the government had to change it on their website recently after someone, who didn't know what they were doing, made the same same mistake as you. You clearly have still not got it, despite the many times it been explained to you, so...

£245 Argos Folder Improvements - complete story

You need a special adapter for that because it's an unusual (flat mount) caliper. Bad luck! There was some discussion about those around a year ago. IIRC, there is a conversion adapter available, but it lifts your caliper higher, then you get clearance and alignment issues. You should be able to...

    Recommendations for Electric Bike Insurance

Nearly everything you say is incorrect. Firstly, the markings on the motor are the rated power, not the output power. Secondly, nearly every legal ebike with the correct 250w marking exceeds 250w output power at times, so hardly anybody can confirm their bike meets that requirement. The 48v or...

    UCL:10 TranzX Battery

If the pins are functional, they have a wire attached. If there's no wire attached, they don't perform any electrical function, so you don't need to worry about the pin-outs. The attached wires always have another end that's attached to something at that end. I've never found it to be...

£245 Argos Folder Improvements - complete story

Normally, the calipers are all post mount. It's the adapter that has to change to fit the bike and the size of disc, so if you already have cable brakes, you leave the adapters in place, if you have any, and just swap the calipers. If you're unsure, show what you have.

Changing BBS02 battery plate / motor bullet connectors

You don't need connectors on the battery plate because the battery is removeable and has its own connector. I always cut off those bullets and solder the wires directly to the controller.

    UCL:10 TranzX Battery

It shouldn't be that difficult. On the other side of the pin is a wire. Follow the wire to see where it goes.

The back brake on my Argos folder is also not perfect due to a compromised cable; however, those brakes work perfectly on the Argos MTB.

E-bike Bead Hub Motor Gear Compatible (w1l)

The noise sounds like gears, but it most cases it's caused by a bad electrical connection. Check that the motor cable is pushed in ALL THE WAY TO THE LINE, not just pushed in tight. Also, pull the controller out and have a look at the motor wire connections. The only time you replace the motor...

Spare battery to match my existing one

You can use any battery you want if you have an external controller because the battery is supplied with the base. Just unscrew the old base and screw on the new one. In the worst case, you might need to insert a new rivnut or two. It's only when you have an integrated controller that you have...

Mirider 2021 how good are they for money

The title is "How good is a Mirider for the money", not how good is it. The basic one is not bad for the money, but the deluxe one is a bit expensive. The £245 Argos bike I bought is better than the Mirider in some respects after I upgraded the brakes to hydraulic, higher gear ratios and KT...

    cyclamatic problems

This one. You'll need a speed sensor because your motor doesn't have one. Also, you must choose an LCD (not LCD1). The rest of the stuff is optional. It's dual voltage, so when your battery becomes tired, you can simply swap it for a 36v one, which will slot straight in...

£245 Argos Folder Improvements - complete story

They're probably all OK. I fitted two sets of the Aliexpress ones (link below) to my Argos bikes. The difference on the MTB is amazing. I'd say not far behind normal hydraulic brakes. I haven't used the folder enough to be sure of the difference, but I can immediately detect a step up in...

Dillenger kit, possible to upgrade controller?

A lot depends on which battery you have and how old it is. We always recommend KT controllers because they have so many useful functions, but, most of all they, use power control for the pedal assist instead of the normal speed control, which gives you total control over how hard you want to...

X35 DIY aliexpress solution to dead battery

The problem is when you have the wrong speed sensor setting in the controller for the actual speed sensor you have. The motor starts up, but the speed is calculated too high so the speed limit immediately cuts it. That happens when you have 6 magnets in the motor and you have the controller set...
