Yes - the Bafang SWX02 kit that I got from Ali Express is the same - I changed it to 9 PAS levels on my display which is slightly better, but I am usually pedalling faster than levels 1,2 or 3 (apart from starting off), so really use levels 4-9. At each level there is a speed where I can add a...
Just realised something, front headlight (& lcd backlit) switches on fine using long + press. However, when I brake, the light flashes continuously while the brake is on (irrespective of whether the lights are on). Think I must have connected the front light to the rear light connection, but...
The thing I am conscious about with hub motors is as you slow going uphill, the motor slows below its optimum speed, which I guess means you are likely to get less assistance
To be honest, when I pedal up that hill with my BBS02B (max current left at default setting : 22a) I slow to 10 mph, so...
Thanks, yes, I was wondering about getting rid of the front derailleur completely and fit a single cog at the front to reduce the congestion. In the meantime I will swap the throttle the other way up !
Wasn't ignoring Nealh's advice, don't think it is a fitting issue as such, it's just the design of those MTB mudguards (which I had lying around) I think they have been fitted as per the instructions. I did actually find some front MTB mudguards for sale that fit a lot closer to the front...
Tried riding up a biggish hill ,(1/2 mile with a 1/3 mile over 10% gradient, peaking at 17.3% -according to mapometer.) It was fine, put in quite a bit of pedalling effort (which I don't mind) and slowed to 8mph at the steepest point.
Added a mirror (it's great!), kickstand, suspension seat...
I have 2 menus on my display one is hold + and- buttons and one is hold + and - buttons and repeatably press power (8 times?), think the max assist speed is on the first menu (use + and - to adjust and power button to toggle through options. I'm wondering if it is already set to 35km/h, I...
Looks great ! - on my display / controller it's press and hold the + and - buttons together to set the max assist speed. I'd not thought of putting the controller under the downtube - does it need any weather protection for the controller and connections ? (bag?). What hub motor is it ?
Couldn't anyone illegally entering the country do the same ? Nobody checked our passports, the dogs animal health certificates, anything - they just checked our vehicle had a ticket and waved us through. Anyone illegally entering the country could just drive onto the ferry, go into the Lounge...
Judge Simon Batiste told Marin "Britain has no need for criminals such as you coming into this country. Sadly we have our own home-grown criminals" :)

Aiui it's basically the same motor the swx02, usually the 36v version is stamped 250w and the 48v version 500w This is the controller that came with my kit
I bought one from AliExpress, seller titan west (48v 500w) for 26" wheel cassette with c961 display. £252 , delivery from France . They mentioned some duty maybe payable but it got delivered without any further charges. I already have a battery, and I swap between bikes (This one)
Woosh do a...
I suspect the companies are having to make some sort of risk judgement on legal liability / potential reputational damage for their bikes that have been de-restricted - maybe we should be pushing for looking at the regulations around L1e-A and L1e-B bike classes and coming up with a suitable...
That looks great - would there be enough room to fit a battery/ controller box ? I guess you could drill the downtube if the rivnut was the only problem ?
Yes, the same supplier had lots of 250w / 36 volt kits - I did wonder if I could have fitted one of those and attach a 48v battery. They do...
What size battery? Is it the "traditional" battery type
There are places that will re-cell them or winstanley bikes have the batteries slightly cheaper or if you are more adventurous just buy a 36 v battery and connect it to the controller
When I come up to a junction, I quite often want to change gear down to a lower gear, ready for setting off, so I want to pedal to change down gears, but don't want the PAS to kick in the motor - if there is a sensor on the brakes, it's much easier
Yes - this was all the wires that come out the controller, especially the battery xt90 connecter - there wasn't room / battery wire connector wasn't long enough to stuff it all into the controller box, so I cut the end off an old tennis racquet cover and taped that on to the bottom of the...
