Do you know if the bottom bracket on those Rocky Mountain Elements is compatible with a BBS01 / 02 ? As @saneagle says, for a mid drive it's probably worth finding a steel replacement cassette (and maybe ebike grade chain)
He wasn't really making money out of YouTube until COVID, his nursing training videos had thousands of views, not millions. The fact that he has written some Nurse training textbooks doesn't make him an expert on pandemics or vaccines

Why do you trust it ?
What makes a good donor bike ? Not sure it is quite the same criteria as choosing an analog bike ? More emphasis on how rugged the components are rather than lightness, particularly the chain / gears in a mid drive that is going to have to cope with several times the power a human could...
There's quite a good income promoting vaccine / COVID disinformation

I like the idea of touching the brake lever to activate the brake sensor to change gears on a mid drive going up hill. On my BBS02B (without gear sensor) I seem to able to change down gears on assist levels 1-5 (up to 50% power on my set up ) with the motor driving the chain with no (audible)...
That's very interesting - comparing for instance the Bafang G01 (std) vs G01(Fst) with a 700C wheel - the standard does get you up hills quicker but with 100W human power there is very little difference in the top speeds on the flat. However with 250 or 300 W human power the Fast does pull...
I'd compared some on the Grin Motor Simulator site that you can get quite different results for different motors so comparing a Aikema G75 with 14A compared to a DGWX with 20A on a 12% slope
Not sure how representative that is of your motors and the windings - my XF08C that I got from Woosh...
Looking at the Camino, the handlebars look quite high, looks like a quite upright position to me. The motors are slightly different specs, @Woosh would I be correct speculating the Camino is a slightly better hill climber , when the speed drops ?
I have this problem with all battery level displays, 36v, 48v, kit based and on my wife's Wisper, It seems like I get a 1/3 of the way through the useable voltage drop before the battery displays move off 100%
A pedelec sounds ideal for your commute
Can I ask how heavy you are ? Also what sort of gradient are the hills ? - the "predictor" tool on the Woosh bikes website is useful eg
