    Brexit, for once some facts.

I can't say that I am sad to see Johnson and Dorries leaving. Johnson's leaving statement confirms what we think of him: me, me, me. He lives in a parallel universe where he can do no wrong. I wonder what zlatan has to say on this news.

I am looking for a partner to produce an add-on torque sensor for the BBS01

I use only one FB350 for sensing so the orientation of the second FB350 is not important, it's just there so that effect of the temperature on the resistance of the strain gauges cancels each other out. I think I found the source of the drift BTW. I'll fix it tonight. It's funny, when you share...

Teen on e-bike dies after colliding with ambulance

If you are looking for accountability, you will have to look into why the police cannot enforce existing laws because of their reduced number and resource. They gave up on crimes against property for decades now, even domestic violence and rape cases are partially dropped. They don't stop...

I am looking for a partner to produce an add-on torque sensor for the BBS01

Just a quick update for those who follow my little project. The strain gauges are more sensitive than I thought, so that's good. I use two high precision BF350, I superglued the first BF350 to the axle for measuring and taped the second for temperature compensation. The ADC is a 24-bit HX711...

    Dual hub e-bikes

I think saneagle owned one. Personally, I wouldn't trust such an arrangement. If the front motor pulls more than the rear motor, you can create an unexpected rotation and you don't want your handlebars to do that. edit: even if the front wheel pulls less than the rear wheel, if the front wheel...

    Cargo Bike Conversion Advice

We always advise the DWG22C for tandems and BBS01ET for Dutch bakfiets for carryingchildren to school. However, I thought yours would do better with the rear hub for unknown reason. I should have asked you for what model of bike you have. That's the danger of answering on a forum, you soon...

    Cargo Bike Conversion Advice

you can't reprogram it to 250W. The reason being that the label is an administrative requirement to make the bike road legal. It has to be put there by the motor manufacturer. If someone gets hurt, the insurance companies will go after whoever puts the 250W label to make the bike road legal...

    Cargo Bike Conversion Advice

I would not call it detuned. I asked Bafang to do me a 48V 16A 250W BBS01. I call it BBS01ET for extra torque because it's the BBS01 but with a souped up controller. The BBS02 is supplied with 48V 20A controller. I suspect that Bafang simply programmed the controller to suit me. I don't want to...

    Cargo Bike Conversion Advice

A 500W BBS02 has 48V 20A controller but not road legal. you can buy a BBS01ET, 48V 15A 250W kit from me but it's not as suitable for cargo bikes as a rear hub DWG22C or SWX02. The controller on the DWG22C/SWX02 is 48V 17A against the BBS01ET's 48V 15A. The BBS01ET is more suitable for mountain...

    Cargo Bike Conversion Advice

both have the same torque rating. Both are good for cargo bikes up to about 250kgs total weight. The Bafang SWX02 has thread for freewheels, the DWG22C has freehub body for cassettes. The Bafang is drilled for 13 gauge spokes and slightly smaller, so a bit easier to lace. We have both in stock.

    Cargo Bike Conversion Advice

Denwyn bought secondhand one of my CD bikes in 2013. Back then, there was no gear sensor. He lives in Somerset where hills are everywhere. He sold it in 2016 and bought a Wisper. I started to fit gear sensor to the Woosh Krieger in 2016 after he sold his.

    Cargo Bike Conversion Advice

your bike has torque sensor and weighs what? 21-22kgs and you weigh? 60kgs? shifting gears on AXS takes a tenth of a second. It's not the same when you have a 200kg-250kg cargo bike on a cadence sensored crank drive shifting an Acera derailleur. The gearshift sensor on the BBBSes turns off the...

    Cargo Bike Conversion Advice

all motors have tradeoffs. Crank drives put a lot of tension on the chain, making gear shifting very difficult. If you fit a shift sensor, it loses power mid shift so going uphill can be a struggle. For cargo bikes, the DWG22C on a 24" rear hub is a very good choice. It will give you excellent...
