Aren't e-bike chargers smart so they detect when fully charged & stop charging like laptop power supplies?

That just says that it is illegal to cycle on the pavement but if you are lucky then you might get away with it.

Who on earth would spend €4.5K on that? It doesn't look practical for a serious adult cyclist & a kid couldn't afford one.

It can't be correct that battery can be no more than 48V. It's the power of the motor that's limited to 250W not the voltage required to deliver that power. Power = current x voltage.
