Your not wrong there, I'm cool with paying a few quid more for my cube and its 500 battery. I appreciate for a lot of people price is the over riding factor when buying a new bike but for me the halfords bike looks too old fashioned and utilitarian for what is a purely leasure bike.

Oh yes, I also get parcels turning up at work from China that I'd forgoten I'd brought ;). It's down to my method of shotgun buying, bid penny's on lots of identical items (only with free post though) The latest wins included elastic shoe laces 6p posted, fleece neck warmer 49p and a realy good...

I think your missing the point, I was explaining why my kit gets damp and wondering how often others in a similar position wash there kit ?

I can do that but I'm not cycling for transport but for fun & exercise :oops: if I don't break a sweat I might as well be Sitting at home in front of the TV :p ;)

Washing your kit ? OK so cycling every day (& getting sweaty) I'm getting through my clean kit very quickly. Obviously all base layers get washed every ride, having several means I always have a clean base layer but what to do with outer layers ? my soft shell mid layer gets damp from the inside...

I've used shimano m315 hydraulic on a recent build, front and rear new for £36 off the bay, I can't see any reason why anyone would want to use mechanical brakes, unless they came fitted on a bike :rolleyes: even then I'd recomend switching to hydraulic ;)

I'm stuck in the de-electrified zone. My old cube/Bosch has gone and the new one due sometime in January. For now it's analogue only for me ;) I've put some mudguards on my pedel only bike and I'm enjoying a local circular ride, 8 to 10 miles of cycle paths and a few farm tracks, a bit muddy but...

Good question ? As I was typing " Binocular " my iPad assumed I was saying " binoculars " and automaticly corrected my typing. Ocular being the thing you look through, bi or mono denotes the quantity. Just like, cycle prefixed by bi, uni or tri. You wouldn't say bicycles or a pair of bicycles...

My limited alli experience (3 purchases) is positive, 2 corect items (RC car parts) and the third sent the wrong model monocular, the corect item resent and I got to keep the first monocular aswell :cool:

I don't have a smart phone and I wouldn't buy a bike that required one to work o_O

What a bummer, if it was stolen befor you picked it up, was it not stolen from the shop ? Are you out of pocket ?

Horses mess, although unplesent it doesn't carry the same life threatening bacteria as dog eggs dose, endangering livestock and spreading disease. Although I haven't anything against horses personally, I still think there's somthing not quite right with any animal that defecates whilst still...

You had me thinking there for a while, I'd never heard of heli tape :rolleyes: in the past I've just used sticky backed vinyl in the key areas. I'm going for carbon print vinyl on the down tube & chain stay of the new bike, just 1 or 2 pound on flebay for an A4 sheet :cool: clear vinyl wherever...
