    Getting back in the saddle

There lots of reasons not to stop, it's quicker to lose muscle tone than it is to get it back after a long break, the same goes for the butt to Saddle interface. I also find that my arthritis thrives on inactiverty, the less I do, the more it hurts ;)

Pedelecs that you like, but perhaps shouldn't.

Just for looning around on, 3000 watts of nuttiness for a miserly $10,000 https://electricbikesbrisbane.com.au/collections/vintage-retro/products/vintage-electric-scrambler-ebike

    The new best headlight

I'm a fan of frame bags, they keep my light battery close to where the light is mounted and I can put all that stuff in there that would have been in my pockets, phone, money, keys, emergency fruit pastels ;) (other sources of quick energy are available) and a small coffee stop lock.

    Getting back in the saddle

I'm an old hand with both cube & Bosch so I have a good idea what I'm getting and I've just been informed it will now probably be mid Febuary :(

    costco jetson electric mtb

I always charge and keep my battery indoors so when I start a ride my battery is at room temp and as it discharges it helps keep the temp up. I've learned from experience that if you start off on a cold day with a cold battery you'll get a noticeably reduced range. Also whenever I see...

    The new best headlight

I'd blame the BMS in the box not the charger ! I was considering buying a bat box but not now you posted your findings. I thought it would be easier than useing my RC balance charger ;)

    Shwalbe Tyre problem

Well I'm not upset in the slightest, just amused. I can't see how this thread turned sour so quickly but it kept me entertained for a while ;)

    Gear indicator window removable?

I don't know if it pops out from the front but I wouldn't advise getting at it from the back  The first time I fitted a new cable i took the back off by mistake  inside there's a surprisingly intricate collection of moving parts, the indicator itself is delicate plastic and has a...

    Shwalbe Tyre problem

Never seen that before  if it's not to much trouble I'd go back to the shop they came from. Personally I'm a Schwalbe fan, 4 prs on several bikes over 8 years. As they have always performed Well for me so I know what to expect when I buy my next pr.;)

A random thread for things too unimportant for their own thread...

Back at work today, I remembered this optimistic post of mine  10 days off work and I managed 9 rides of 8 to 20 miles each, some a bit windy others a bit cold but on none of them did it rain, which was nice

Advice re new bike with hub gears.

For my 10 pence worth I had both options on my Bosch powered Cube and late last year I built an analog (un-assited) bike from eBay & spare parts. Initialy fitted with a 9 derailleur (because that's what I had) untill a few weeks ago when I fitted a alfine 8 spd hub. The difference between the...

Seized caliper piston. Is it worth trying to free it

Well it all depends on what you have, are your brakes expensive to replace ? A seal/piston kit, new fluid and bleed kit lets you strip and rebuild them ? Personally I'd just buy new as my Shimano brakes (single sided) were less than £40 the pr, complete, pre bled and ready to fit. It would be...

any impressions on the Carrera Crossfuse (or the Bosch Active Line Plus)?

Correction, I ment to say that I'm paying a little bit more for my cube than alt cycles price. After all is said and done, the bitter taste of poor service outlasts the sweet taste of a cheap price ;)

    Good Bike Tool Kit?

From Shakespeare's Hamlet, 1602: LORD POLONIUS: Neither a borrower nor a lender be; For loan oft loses both itself and friend, And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
