I have sat on the sidelines and learnt alot

That is one seriously unstealthy bike. Loving the bling frame, did you have it chromed yourself?. I'm guessing you're not going to be leaving it parked unattended anywhere?

    Rear brake pain

Got one of those on the front of our 'guest bike'. When someone new is about to ride I always dwell on the fact that it's hydraulic because I suspected it might be capable of doing that. Not to grab a handful is the exact phrase I use. Speedy recovery AK. ps Arnica ointment is good on bruises.

    Rear brake pain

Avid fitted and adjusted, seems to release equally on both sides - so far. Not been ridden yet, so fingers crossed.

    Recumbant trike query

Technically that's correct as the motor stops when you stop pedalling. However I find there's times when it's useful, approaching a junction downhill that will have an up incline on pulling away from it. Needs you to change down gears as you approach but you need to slow down, brake switch...

    Are throttles legal or not?

Here we go again ! As far as I understand it, there is no mention of self build kits in the law as it stands. So throttles are allowed by omission. My kit (an Ezee) has a full acting throttle, but then it was bought and installed in November 2014 - so before the change in the law to whatever...

    Rear brake pain

Ordered the Avid from Tredz, 14.95 inc. delivery. Cheaper than a Magura and keep the rear motor switch.

    Rear brake pain

Yup, bin there, done that, got the tee shirt, using it as a duster! It's not the first time there's been this problem with V brakes in my life to be honest. On my own bike I would persevere but, as this is the wife's bike, I want to make sure it's safe. She can be a bit tardy reporting...

    Rear brake pain

Cable's been replaced. Either one side or the other doesn't release from the wheel. Bloody thing's driving me nuts. Is this the one AK/...

    Rear brake pain

The rear V brake caliper on the wife's Big Bear has become a real pita. I fiddle with for half an hour, get it releasing equally. Then we go out and in no time it's releasing asymetrically again. To stop it binding it is set so slack that the lever comes all the way to the handlebar, giving...

    First Hurdle

It's the capacitors in the controller charging up as you plug in.

    Disc Brakes - Whats This?

Mechanical disc brakes only move the outer pad. This slides in and bends the disc onto the inner pad. The allen key is the adjuster for that inner pad. Clockwise moves the pad onto the disc, anti-clockwise moves the pad away from the disc. Adjustment is used to compensate for wear. Discs...

    PAS Sensor KT V 12L

Can you be sure that the splines of the pas are gripping the crank shaft fully? It sounds as if the pas stops rotating with change of cadence. Some people have had a problem with that type of sensor when the crank arm is too tight up against the sensor body, so slightly squashing it. Filing a...

Xiongda YTW-06 front hub motor into Norco Indie 3

Fit it to the chainring like this: You'll never see it again!

chainset is 46 tooth likely to help compared with a 52

I have that megarange on one of my bikes. As Flecc says, it's not often you need the big cog. However when it is used I find the jump from 1st to 2nd very large. As the hill flattens a little you start to spin too high in 1st, so you go to 2nd and find it mighty heavy. The change itself is...

D8's got a way to make your own aluminium sticker, I'm sure one will be along presently.

    Bosch 2amp charger

I've got a feeling that electrical goods sold in this country have to be supplied with a suitable plug, it's a requirement. Bit naughty by the bike shop.

    Carrera Crosscity

You seem to be saying that the battery has been left for a year with no use, either discharge or charge. If that's the case the battery voltage may well be below what the charger will recognise. If Halfords come back with a 'Don't know', you are going to need a voltmeter.
