Battery BMS LVC will cut power fully, until the battery is reset. This will obviously turn off the Bafang totally. The Bafang LVC soft cuts the power. It feels like a stuttering sensation in the motor unit. The display will stay on, but power is drastically reduced.

Don't need the old display, but I like the way the new one shows current rather wattage :)

No probs, just be sure that any battery you do buy is rated for a continuous 20+ amps.

With rear wheel off ground, the Bafang will only draw a few amps maximum to spin the wheel. With the wheel on the ground, a person on the saddle and starting from standstill, it could require 20 amps+. This condition can cause an old worn battery to sag to BMS low voltage cut-off point.

Oh right, I assumed the battery was new. Most likely the battery can't provide enough amps for the Bafang then.

Depending on how the Bafang is programmed, it can draw a lot of current from the battery under load. It may be that the battery is sagging badly under load and tripping out the BMS' low voltage cut-off. It's not the Bafang's low voltage cut-off, as this produces a stuttering sensation in the...

48v 11.6Ah, using Samsung 29E cells. 2amp charger.

During the warmer months, I tend to ride twice a day. Unfortunately, it's a six hour wait to charge up for the second ride, so yes, fast charging would be good for me.

What battery are you using? A link to vendor would be useful.

It would be nice to see the pack capable of providing continuous currents of 20 amps+, without sagging badly or cycles dropping to unreasonable levels.

Stan, if the bike has a pedal sensor as well as a throttle, and both don't work, then it's highly likely to be a controller or motor issue. You've already tested the battery and you say you have lights on the handlebar display. Time to look at the areas of the controller and motor. If the...
