    Battery not cutting out

To be fair Dave, you were running a 500 amp controller on the poor thing :p

    Battery not cutting out

I'll vouch for Ping batteries being very good. Ran a 48v 15Ah split pack for a year and a half at 2C peaks, with no discernible loss of performance. Charged at 5 amps too. I guessimate around 400 cycles. Then sold it on to some lucky forum member, for a bargain price :) The weight is the only...

worn brake pads and intermittent power loss

Just took a look at the Carrera Crossfire-E, and I have to say, that's not a bad bike at all for the price. Carrera Crossfire-E

Enjoy a Safe and Secure Bike Ride: Top 4 Tips

Where I work, means I regularly drive past late shift workers at Nissan, on their way home too. A fair few ride bikes to and from work, and it gives me an idea of what visibility works on a bike and what doesn't. Obviously no lights at all, or just one light front or rear, is the worst. Next...

Enjoy a Safe and Secure Bike Ride: Top 4 Tips

The problem of signalling by hand can be exacerbated on an electric bike too. On a human powered bike, take one hand off the handlebars, and even if you are still pedaling, there's still a good amount of steering control. The problem comes on an electric bike, where the PAS kicks the power in...

worn brake pads and intermittent power loss

Mud contains water, which is diamagnetic, so weakens the magnetic field of the sensor disc. That's my theory anyway

worn brake pads and intermittent power loss

Bottle holder with one of those squirty style drinks bottles, would be handy for blasting areas like the pedal sensor.

worn brake pads and intermittent power loss

If that's the cause of your erratic power problem, then it wouldn't hurt ;)

worn brake pads and intermittent power loss

There should be a pedal sensor magnetic disc and magnet sensor on the bottom bracket. Give that a clean with some soapy water.

Has anyone purchased or heard from Eclipse Bikes recently?

Thanks Steve. It seems daft. If your one and only advertised means of communication is e-mail and the business is solely internet based, then surely it's beneficial to respond promptly o_O I have bought from them before and I remember comms being flaky way back then :(

Without a mobile or landline contact number, these peeps can be a bit hit and miss with e-mails. Has anyone purchased or heard from Eclipse Bikes recently?

What chainring are you running on the BBS02?

Bafang 750w Mid drive on 13 Incline Alpha 27.5" MTB

RobF will relate to this one. I've visited this north eastern iconic landmark, very easily with the BBS02. The rear hub motor struggled. The hub motor was in fact running a little more power than the BBS02.

Bafang 750w Mid drive on 13 Incline Alpha 27.5" MTB

I agree. I've ridden extensively, both a rear hub motored bike and a BBS02. I would not even consider a hub motor for the terrain you are riding. The BBSxx range of motors have the ability to provide a massive amount of torque at very slow speeds, which is ideal for muddy, wet and hilly...

    Awful brakes on my ebike

Woah, was expecting something entirely different. Might have a 1" steerer tube and not the later 1 1/8", so I would imagine disc brake forks are even rarer. Have you tried changing the brake blocks for maybe a softer grippier compound?
