Anyone done a Software Update on Agattu C11 Impulse

Alex, I have found that using the "Sport" biking profile significantly increases battery consumption especially in power mode. For example, on mixed rides containing many hills, I find that using power mode can restrict range to only 25 miles. Using eco and sport modes, roughly half and half...

Beautiful on Dartmoor today - here are a few photos to make you jealous

A bit of sunshine makes all the difference. A few pictures from my 50 mile ride today.

    Kalkhoff Proconnect S

50cycles are the only place to buy new Kalkhoffs in the UK. 2013 Pro Connect models have the new Xion rear hub motor that may not be what you are looking for. If you want a higher power (not road legal) bike the Endeavour Bosch Sport would be the current model on offer.

    What Giants!?

Came across this couple whilst out cycling today. They are cycling across Europe telling stories and demonstrating their different kind of electric bike - it makes electricity rather than uses it. You can read about their adventures at whatgiants.blogspot.com

Another fine day - how long can you keep going?

Not the small wheels, just the effort I put in with the low level of assist. There are no published figures for the assistance levels that I know of. I would guess something like Eco 50%, Sport 75%, Power 100% If you set the biking profile to sport (available with the 2013 software using the...

Another fine day - how long can you keep going?

Turning into a fantastic week for cycling. After yesterday's foray to the vineyards (Eastcott) tried out a slightly longer day ride route for our prospective bike higherers. To Bude, returning via Tamar Lakes. Using 'eco' assist on the Sahel Compact for most of the time and increasing to 'sport'...

    NuVinci CVT (Automatic Gears) Hub

Jim, Just noticed the link you included above was for the small frame with 26" wheels (I think). I assume that you ordered the 28" model. Just checking.

    Perfect day for riding

This afternoon I did a very enjoyable 30 mile round trip to Eastcott Vineyard near Northlew in Devon. I'm testing out different day rides for prospective ebike higherers (hirers). Beautiful day for it. Rather nice sparkling wine too. They even have an electric charge point. Hopefully they will...

Jim, I'm sure that will be a great choice. Be interested to hear your impressions when it arrives.

We are family all of my sisters and me-but are we???

I like the west country, I could see myself living in Exeter or Bristol but not London now. Nice to visit though.

Anyone done a Software Update on Agattu C11 Impulse

I have upgraded many Impulse motor bikes. If you upgrade the software and set the 'Biking Profile' to 'Sport' you should notice the difference. If you leave the Biking Profile at the default 'Tour' the difference is harder to spot. This will of course impact on your range.

We are family all of my sisters and me-but are we???

I spent about 10 years working in London commuting from Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Harrow at different times. I now visit occasionally and enjoy it when I'm there. I do enjoy cycling in cities but now that is usually Exeter, Plymouth or Bristol. Especially fun on my powered Brompton. I now live...

    New from Woosh, mileage predictor

I think this is a great little tool, thanks Hatti. The routes it comes up with are the ones I would take and the mileage estimates are refreshingly honest (perhaps even in the pessimistic side). It doesn't appear to take terrain into account when estimating battery usage - it does display the...

If I had a pound for

No, but if you manage to hit 88mph it will take you back to the future and you end up on a Penny Farthing. Then you really will be stuffed getting up the other side.

Dealers offering loan bikes and pick up for warranty bikes

Alex, We have a service unit at Bike Higher in North Devon. I would be happy to meet you half-way if you fancied a ride up towards us - and I could ride down towards you. Alternatively, I am planning a circular ride between Newquay and Mevagissey sometime soon and we might pass close to you. It...

We are family all of my sisters and me-but are we???

I used to work in London so I know what it's like. It really is a much slower pace of life down here - apart from us on our eBikes of course!

We are family all of my sisters and me-but are we???

Here in Devon we always acknowledge other cyclists and sometimes they even respond. We see quite a few eBikes around and usually we stop and have a chat. Mostly we are cycling on Sustrans routes so you would expect to meet a good number of cyclists out for pleasure rather than commuting and with...

    NuVinci CVT (Automatic Gears) Hub

I find that the Big Apple tyres don't do a bad job of absorbing some of the lumps and bumps - adequate for poor road surfaces and most cycle tracks. But then I've never been a big fan of suspension.

HERO ECO exhibiting A2B & Fast4ward models at Scottish Bike Show

Hope it all goes well Mark. If you're looking for somewhere to eat, Glasgow is one of the best places in the UK for Indian food. One of our favourites when we lived up there was Bombay Blue near Central Station but there are many others.
