And too much radio is also infested. Far, far too much laughter that doesn't sound real. Talking over each other. Erratic volume. Etc.

Did you ever see the old London Transport maintenance depot film from many years ago? All set up to allow Routemasters to be extensively taken apart and re-assembled, with replacement parts and repairs, overnight or 5 days. Ready to roll the next day/week. I suspect that depot could have been...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Truss is totally delusional: Britain's best days are ahead of us I'll not be so negative as to say it is untrue. But I can't see it in any period of time relatable to a premiership - even if you go back to Walpole. I've seen too many things recently which are already accepted as needing until...

Amazon launch their first UK e-cargo micromobility hub

I don't eat them! I really don't like the taste of even "safe" commercial fungi. There are loads of websites, etc., some are quite good but I don't have any particular recommendations.

I'd always be extremely careful. Although the number of truly dangerous ones you find in the UK is small, they can be truly nasty. And sometimes a variety which is fine in one place, is liable to cause at least an upset somewhere else. Even just because it is growing on a different substrate.

One of the two cars I regularly drive is white, the other red. I'm not entirely convinced by their red car arguments. I suspect that at night, red is much less obvious than in daylight. We'd need time of day/daylight information to see if that holds any water. Also, some reds are massively...

Amazon launch their first UK e-cargo micromobility hub

I've been seeing grey primer-ish cars for years. But, yes, more recently almost seems to be the top choice for new cars. Can't for the life of me understand why anyone would choose such shades. It is not that distinguished grey some very much older cars used. Have been walking in town, and...

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

If you are approaching from behind, it's your responsibility to do whatever is necessary. Including stopping, if needed. (I never walk with things plugged into my ears. That is plain daft. But I know many do.)

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

I agree it is attitude rather than speed. The most common issue for me, living in a quiet largely rural area, is when walking along a shared use path. A bike suddenly goes past without warning, sometimes quite fast. If I haven't seen it (assume it came from behind), the sudden tyre noise and...

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

In that sense, there doesn't need to be any form of display. The restriction is on the bike receiving power from the battery at higher speeds - not on the bike itself going faster. If the Swytch kit doesn't impose a limit, and I have no idea whether or not it does, then it would appear...

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

The man with the red flag got rather upset when the locomotive went at over 10 mph. (As updated in the 1865 Act.) :) More seriously, had there been a functional, usable speedometer available, I suspect that they would soon have been mandated. Even in the 1861 Act.

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

First requirement is surely that every bicycle would have to be fitted with a speedometer? Ludicrous if you could be charged with a speeding offence but quite legally have no means of knowing your speed. I can't see an obvious point at which some, such as toddlers' bikes, don't need to have a...

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists

I saw this as part of brexit - so posted there. This is what I said: Don't worry, they'll blame cyclists next. Oh! They have: RECKLESS CYCLISTS FACE JAIL CRACKDOWN (Daily Mail front page last night - might have changed by now.) Something might need to be done but the number of deaths caused...

Don't worry, they'll blame cyclists next. Oh! They have: RECKLESS CYCLISTS FACE JAIL CRACKDOWN (Daily Mail front page last night - might have changed by now.) Something might need to be done but the number of deaths caused by cyclists is still pretty low (about 2.5 per year according to some...

But that was well into the Cameron–Clegg coalition - and if well over a decade hasn't been enough to decide changes are needed, and make them, it is squarely a tory issue.

How can Sunak be blaming Labour policies for distribution of funding (to inner cities rather than Tunbridge Wells)? Hasn't been a Labour government since 11 May 2010. Be blaming the Whigs soon.
