I did not suggest you join the brake wires directly to the controller. Sorry if I gave that impression. What I mean is you use the connectors from the loom, they are waterproof. JST SM are not waterproof.

the reason I recommend a crank drive is because it's a lot more flexible torque wise than a front motor kit. The issue for anyone with physical impairment is you need high torque at low speed. I did work on a hand bike for a guy in a wheel chair. He has one of those Weizmann hub motors. The...

You can make your own cables. Cut the yellow connectors from the 1-4 cable and solder the brake sensor wires to them. Use heat shrink tube to seal the soldered connections.

you can fit a 4-bolt 110mm BCD adapter and 28T chainring to the BBS01. It's inexpensive. where did you read that? It's OK, I reread the story. I supplied the TSDZ2 in that kit. The steering rod was in the way and the customer made a new rod himself.

I am sure that a BBS01 kit would work well on your friend's Kettwiesel trike. I have some pictures somewhere. It can also take the Tongsheng TSDZ2: Hase Ketwiessel Recumbent Trike - TSDZ2 install - part completed | Pedelecs - Electric Bike Community A crank drive is lot easier project with...

    First ladies ebike recommendations

The Ribble Low Step AL is not really suitable. The OP wants a child seat, that means she needs a proper low-step step through like the Dutch ride. She wouldn't be able to swing her leg over the rear wheel.

If you want to avoid cables everywhere, avoid the throttle and the 1-4 Julet, avoid the 9-pin motor cable too.

Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

we can't. Most of our customers build their first kit with us, we have to make sure that they succeed so we need to keep potential problems to a minimum. Also, only Andy and me do the support job.

Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

I am tempted to add a TMM torque sensor to the throttle of the BBS01

Oh no, 190 miles in and TSDZ2 strange noise

Motor noises without other symptoms like crank slipping is difficult to diagnose. It's possible that the blue gear is damaged on your motor but the symptom of a blue gear failure is that you clearly lose traction on throttle or you can hear the ratchetting noise from the blue gear when...

Has anyone heard of or tried Toseven mid drive?

agreed, at least a radiator. The TSDZ2 can reach 70C - 80 C inside after 10 minutes while the outside is just warm to touch.

    Legal Pitfalls

Look at this this way: I need the warranty from Lishui, Bafang, Tongsheng, Shengyi, MXUS etc exactly like my customers need their warranty covered by me. We need to be quite clear where we stand in case of troubles. Tongsheng, Bafang, Mxus, Shengyi etc have EN15914 certifcates for their...

    Legal Pitfalls

we have discussed this same subject over the years and there is still no general agreement. Kits are tolerated in the EU just as much as here, in the UK. Police over there don't stop e-bikers because they have a kit, but there are anecdotes now and then that some got fined 100 Euros for using...

    Legal Pitfalls

It's a tongsheng label. I asked them to make for me a 48V 250W TSDZ2 with clear labelling. I asked Bafang the same, make for me a BBS01B 48V 250W with clear labelling. Bafang label is more cryptic but clear enough. They supplied it like it is. It's a lot simpler that way, everyone concerned...

    Suntour motor help.

I replaced years ago the pawls of a hub motor with standard bike parts. Nowadays we keep the lids of the hub motors as spares to avoid faffing about with this delicate job. As you have already removed the freehub mechanism, I would suggest you pull the pawls out, wash the mechanism and replace...

Brake sensors and 1 to 4 cable differences.

yes, but beware that there is no standard wiring for 3-pin brake sensor with Hall. You should get the brake sensors and cable from the same supplier. we normally keep 2-pin red plug simple sensored brake levers with red plugs and 3-pin yellow plug hidden wire brake sensors with Hall and supply...
