£300 fine plus £1800 costs for "dangerous" rollerblading

Vindictiveness for a defendant who fails the attitude test is a normal thing in many courts. It's not the way it should be but it's how it is. Frankly, if he's so stupid and stubborn that as an a normal functional adult he decided to ignore common sense and mouth off in court instead of let...

    Cycling Honours

Arise, Sir Muttonchops. While I was entirely unimpressed with the first Sirdoms handed out for sporting achievements, there are some that are well-earned. Grudgingly, Hoy; Wiggins for sure.

I've got a puncture.. but not in my tyre!

Indeed, those are damn near bulletproof - I had a couple of them last so long I eventually gave them away in the expectation the recipient would get years of use from them. Remember - Every Clown has a Silver LiLo

Urgent Help re electric bike law.

That's the way I see it, too. Those add-on kiddy seats and cargo bikes with more than one seat would be quite legal as long as they're not just thrown together with chewing gum and tie-wraps.

    Rear wheel puncture

That seems utterly ridiculous - a cynic might think it's an under-handed attempt to put people off getting a bike. Not that such things haven't been done before.

    Money Transfer under £300

I see they're also pulling the old bank trick of getting use of your money for a couple of days. Aggregating all those flowing customer funds and using it for other things, just like the banks. Just a new wrinkle on an old game and very nice it is for them, too.

    Approved ebike list?

That's actually a very neat solution, apart from the downside of tyre wear. I'd seen a few friction drive projects on ES, but wasn't too keen on the shonky nature of one-sided bearing motors.

    Approved ebike list?

We don't hear about it much, because it doesn't happen much. There's a general public perception that cyclists don't have insurance, as you say, and so aren't worth pursuing for a claim. That will change if insurance becomes much more common - the shiny sharkskin suits will cruise the waters...

    Approved ebike list?

Well, you can't be 'a little bit' pregnant. May as well be hung for a sheep, as they say in some parts.

Here's what you need - a Kent Screen on your visor Motorcycle visor rain disk There was a wind-operated one in the 50s, made by some UK manufacturer, but I don't know if it ever caught on, or the users decided they didn't like looking like cocks every time it rained. Personally, I don't give...

    cycling as meditation

"there have been occasions on my bike when I realise I have no recollection of the preceding miles. " That's not uncommon on motorways, for that matter.
