Bound to happen - watch what you do with sharing ride data

£175k bikes stolen in Staffordshire as thieves use GPS technology « Express & Star I think the lesson is simply not to log your rides from home if you're going to share them !

    KTM Macina Cross going cheap.

Great stuff. Really glad you're sorted. Hub gears so much less to think about ... you can concentrate on what you want to do now rather than constantly having to prepare your bike for what you're going to need next before you even get there :).

    Pas sensor - metal ring

Make a double-throttle with one as a cruise control. They're pretty great things and not really difficult to make (with the right guidance !) just a bit fiddly. - I definitely couldn't ride long distances on a thumb throttle and this basically sorts out a constant speed option with no thumbs...

    Pas sensor - metal ring

LOL. I really do empathize - there have been a few similar moments recently with my box sides when I glued bits on back to front ... before realizing on getting to the last piece I'd have to break apart and re-do it  ... So easily done especially at night. The 4-hour set time of the...

New Light runs direct from battery.

Sounds like an absolute shambles. Maybe they're out of white and red ones now ! I'd better look after my white one as it looks likely a replacement wouldn't be easy  Maybe Scimitar can take your white one off your hands ...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

Well said - this is exactly my reading of things. All a derestricted 20mph assisted eBike effectively does is make sure you're not as tired and sweaty as you'd be riding the unpowered bike. The notion they are more dangerous than unrestricted eBikes or that they're inherently faster than sports...

    Head gear

Have to admit I wear one more after winding up on a stretcher with a head injury after slamming into a brick wall. However still not all the time. Probably should - it doesn't take much or a high speed to wind up with a very painful and debilitating injury, but I am still skeptical as to how...

Powabyke starting to play up :-(

There will be a fix for it I'm sure if it's not set up right or not working. Appreciate your position - be good if the members who can help out technically are able get you safe again ASAP, especially with those responsibilities at home ! This is a step-thru - but specifically refers to 2...

    Hello from Denmark

Hi kemi. Welcome :). Be good to hear about your experiences. There are many experienced members on the forum who I'm sure will be happy to help as best they can with any questions you have. If you've got questions be sure to post them in the 'Electric Bicycles" section of the Pedelecs Forum as...

Powabyke starting to play up :-(

Personally wouldn't ride the bike or until you sort that ... if the throttle sticks or breaks you may not be able to stop the bike. Could be messy, painful and/or expensive (!) Brake cutoff switches are a fundamental safety issue - all eBikes should have working ones ... can mean difference...

    Electric bike trip simulator

Can't work out how to do that, JimB - I just clicked on the map whilst it plotted a route from that. However, have cleared the previous route and replotted it - now works much better - perhaps something got cached that wouldn't update till I re-entered the route. 35% battery use based on either...

    Electric bike trip simulator

LOL. You've hit the nail on the head - I've been doing EXACTLY the same thing ! :o But it doesn't make any difference - 150% of battery consumed on the trip home (which is the bit I need it). So if this turns out to be right (and I hope it isn't), there will be one very expensive eBike getting...

    Electric bike trip simulator

I put in an expected regular 8km journey with a steep section and it predicts high risk of flattening both a hub motor with 20Ah battery and a traditional European (presumably crank) drive pedelec with 15Ah battery over that distance. Actually it reckons I'll use 150% of my available battery...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

Awaiting clarification as to whether L1e vehicles can be registered in UK with the DVLA on the basis of their EU type approval. Interestingly, if they are, the insurance does not appear difficult to obtain : Electric Scooter Insurance » Lexham Insurance Consultants Ltd Or a dealer could have...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

Wasn't directing that comment at you, GaRRy. I agree with you on this in principle (all above). But I personally believe it sufficient to disclose that the bike has SVA as a category L1e moped. There ought to be some straightforward mechanism of granting such vehicles a tax disc and...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

It's still a user modification necessary to make a (far more powerful and potentially dangerous) vehicle road legal though and no coyness surrounds KTM's willingness to supply same to the UK market - I think that was the point SRS was making. It all sounds like a load of made up arguments to...

    Kalkoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

Depends on the circumstances. If it was adapted and registered as a moped, with number plate and (free) tax disc, and you were wearing a motorcycle helmet then nothing at all, provided you didn't commit any motoring offences, since the Highway Code would be deemed to apply to you in the same way...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

No, my name isn't Scott - I have no agenda with Kalkhoff or 50Cycles but I do have a desire to blast apart hypocritical and greedy behaviour. You are well aware that this is meant to be a small niche market and not a flog it cheap flog it in bulk market which is where Kudos sit. Those bikes...
