Public charging points for electric bikes?

They do, but not as many in towns (where people would charge their bikes at workplaces and/or remain within the single range of the bike) - they appear to be more commontly found on leisure routes/places outside the main range of an ebike and/or in cafés etc (which makes perfect sense to attract...

Wisper rear Bafang and front Dapu motors.....

I've not ridden a front motored Wisper (they are way more expensive for one thing!) but I think they all use the same batteries. you can definitely charge them whilst they are still on the bike - there is a small socket on the side the charger plugs in to.

Public charging points for electric bikes?

A relatively simple solution - add another circuit to the feed and lockers to store the chargers and batteries under charge (as people will have to bring along their own charger). there would need to be some seperate space for each bike to prevent risk from trailing leads, maybe security...

    Helmet Cameras

The same can apply anywhere in life, such as the otherwise respectable family men and loving fathers/husbands who suddenly shoot up their entire family and torch the house after a business failure. This all goes way beyond motor vehicles and roads. I wholly expect that in the near future when...

    Helmet Cameras

a younger friend of mine just did his C series license as he is restoring a Bedford TK as unlike older people he doesn't have this category on grandfather rights. Another chap I know runs a mobile business and workshop and has just attended a mandatory VOSA seminar about his "O license" (for...

    Windsor Powacycle

the Powacycle Windsor is the step through version of the Salisbury. Every other component other than the frame is identical. Depending on the age of it it could either have a NiMH or a LiPo battery. Controller isn't that difficult to get at, except its jammed into a fairly tight space (in the...

    Range and Wh....

it is true that frames from hotter parts of China are made for shorter people (people get shorter in hot countries, tigers are smaller but rats grow in size, its some sort of natural balance) but many Chinese weigh a bit more than that these days, they are a lot more prosperous and like eating...

    Pavement Segway rider found guilty

under common law its permissible to commit a smaller crime to stop a bigger one. Even a private citizen (if they are strong enough of course!) can physically restrain and detain someone who is being violent to others, has stolen something, or whom they suspect of posessing illegal drugs. They...

    Pavement Segway rider found guilty

wasn't the British entrepreneur who bought a share in the company or was the UK distributor fatally injured after riding one which went out of control - he was pitched him off the machine, down a long drop and into a river?

Suffolk Powabyke dealer threatened with closure due to tax bill

true, it does seems odd as the shops been around for some time and is well liked, it does make me think he may have been neglecting his accounts/administration as to be fair the amount of tax is usually pretty easy to calculate from the sales and profits of the business.. Also although HMRC...

Suffolk Powabyke dealer threatened with closure due to tax bill

This was in our local paper today.. I live too far away to support this chap but it seems surprising and worrying that he is suffering from the hard times as I think that shop has quite a good reputation.. Felixstowe: Businessman calls for more help for small traders - News - Evening Star

Halfords - not impressed. The Bicycle Workshop - very impressed.

I think that was the case. This was more than a few quid - that was a £150 mark up on the bike and because big businesses are doing this, people assume that small businesses will do even worse, and have now got it into their head that the Internet is much cheaper (in fact it isn't when you go to...

    Battery conditioning

Recycling batteries however little has been said about progress 7 years later, I expect at present there is no commercial market due to what flecc says. However even with lead acid, one complaint from the Chinese authorities in some areas against e-bikes was that the smaller batteries used in...

    Battery conditioning

I agree - but consider that most of us would want them to be a proper business rather than a combination of boffins tinkering away in a shed and del-boys selling stuff cheap and avoiding wider obligations (sometimes a combination of both in the same "entrepreneur").. so they need enough...

new Electric Bike Magazine online 1st issue out today

Same reason they do so on push bikes! we are all different shapes sizes and fitness levels, and not all gearing arrangements suit everyone. Even when I used to be on more conventional cycling groups/forums folk are doing this all the time...

Do ebikers wind drivers up more?

The bit of London I was mostly in was SE London, I suspect the West End is "safer" merely because of the sheer amount of cops/rentaguards/CCTV around mostly to guard property rather than people being friendlier there. in the same way some parts of Ipswich in early 2007 became virtually...

Do ebikers wind drivers up more?

when I lived in London the 1990s during the last economic recession I'd encounter this all the time, and a fair bit of racism too. I didn't even ride a bike then. I expect it is still bad in London and other big cities.

    City of London E Cop!

I've not come many alleyways you can't get a bike down.. whether you should is another matter, some are marked no cycling, when I was a lad in the 80s the local bobby (more about him later) would wait with his bike at the bottom of said alley and give you a telling off if he caught you cycling...
