    Building in CREE light

Hi Alex, hope you will excuse my foolish and intemperate comment late last night. As no doubt you are aware, dipsomania is always most acute on a full moon, which is ironic as the bright lunar light these last couple of nights is more than adequate for bicycling. Keep up the good work. h

    Building in CREE light

Alex, this is the most insufferably tedious bike build ever known to mankind, not even the great Dostoevsky on a really bad day could be as boring as your light switching/aiming/siting problem and I have to say that your weeping procrastination and incessant indeterminism is unfair on humanity...

Montana E power pedal assist problem

Also fish offal in the sensor leads can result in bizarre signal patterns unidentifiable by your average oriental controller type.

    Kudo Ambassador..a lighter story.

Well done Jim I like your style. Hanging around road junctions, waiting on unsuspecting "bicyclists" is not everyones idea of a fun night out, but someones got to do it eh? The sheer exhilaration of swooping down by these lycra clad body fascists an blowing them of the road in yer slipsteam...

How to turbo charge an Urban Mover

Yes but the point I was trying to make is that whereas bike batteries are normally 1-5C, these new lifepo rc cells are 20-30C, just like rc lipo. way smaller too. Is it jus because they are pouch cells?

How to turbo charge an Urban Mover

thanks dave that's an eye opener. I thought the rc compact cells were a particular and volatile chemistry but there you have LiFePo at 20C. I wonder if these LiFePo cells need balance charging at all? Presumeably better lifespan as well.

Montana E power pedal assist problem

Isn't the pedal sensor a 5v system, 3 wire red 5v black ground and middle the signal wire 0-5v? Surely the green lights should be on fully charged - bms mebe? 39.8v fully charged sounds low for 10S lithium ion.

How to turbo charge an Urban Mover

thanks d8veh, the beastamatic is a good parallel, even the controller compartment is the same unfortunately. We aren't needing high speeds, the power output is woeful, I can stop the motor wheel with my hand! Will try shunting the mod but suspect battery is struggling. The pair of lipos - do you...

Giant Lafree, will a 41t chainring fit?

Evening Tarik and welcome to da forum. The venerable Flecc, our esteemed leader is the world authority on the Giant Lafree and will know all answers to everything you might wish to know. Just as long as your bcd measurements are agreeable, sounds like a thoroughly good idea to me.:)

How to turbo charge an Urban Mover

Hi, today I am looking for advice how to rejuvinate a rather elderly Urban Mover 36. Despite the name, the bike actually runs on 24volts and with an 8amp NMH battery, doesn't really run very fast. The controller is rated at 7amps and I suspect will not deliver much more than that even for short...

nice enough day for a bike ride.....

A biggish looking hub motor there and nice battery position, is it a production or kit bike? Lotta great bike routes over there, Loch Katrine is a nice ride too.

    No more Jeremy?

You know, I remember the moment Jeremy left the forum. We were out, on the high seas searching for basking sharks to harpoon and suddenly I felt a stabbing pain in my butt. Immediately I thought of the harpoon but on revolving I noticed my eyepad was flashing "pedelecs alert" on the Jeremy fails...

How does the PAS work on the Tonaro?

hey Graeme you keeping well? Too bad about the controller but I guess you had been abusing it for long enough eh. With that ridiculously low gearing and the huge Headway you lug around you probably have the most powerful climbing production ebike in the country - and certainly the slowest!

    Best Looking E-bikes!

think your right there Bill. We all seem to want the hot, sexy alpine mountain bike look but it's all just scenery. A big wheeled step-thro with fast rolling tyres and a motor you can tweak to get a few extra mph is just the biscuit.

Ebike pathway to heaven proposal 1st draft

Cheers Linda, the bridge doesn't seem too bad but I dunno about dangerous - a chap got struck by lightning on the middle of it a week or two ago, particularly horrible and unfortunate - we hardly ever get thunder storms up here. It will be replaced though and with oak, which is expensive.

Ebike pathway to heaven proposal 1st draft

Why thankyou Alex, I might try that one day. To be honest the job has not been costed or even fully agreed as yet. We need to encourage tourism around here and the best way to do that is by providing better facilities and activities. It is a particularly beautiful part of the coast and by...

Yes, LOL Dave but I think you know that is no haggis but rather is in fact a cunningly disguised sasanach trap.
