    Carrera crossfire/vulcan tuning

It's working. Just waiting on a new controller. I had one here but unfortunately the amp limit is too high for the battery BMS and it trips. I believe the limit is 15 amps. Tested with a Chinese battery with presumably no limit and although my test controller had no Speedo I'd say I hit 20mph...

    Carrera battery dimensíons.

You'll just get the battery and it will go into the existing cradle. They use a different controller which is why one might need less space

    Motor cuts under load

Well I've learned that these batteries are also for use with the vengeance which is bafang system. They have a 15a controller. That must be the limit and the one I was using must peak higher than that. I am confident my new controller will work now

That's just where the controller is

Well it ran ok with the wife's bike fingers crossed it will play with the new controller

;);) Wife is home, going to plug it into hers and see what happens. The bike I mean

    Motor cuts under load

I knew the risks, I like to tinker. The bike as a bike is really nice, if I end up having to buy a new battery then so be it. Just trying to avoid that but think BMS replacement is beyond me

    Motor cuts under load

Sound like what this is doing as works fine with no load.

    Motor cuts under load

So removal is the only way it seems. I added bullet connectors so I can easily revert to the original config, not that it made any difference. Sick now, hope the 13a controller doesn't trip the system

Just hooked up directly to the pack + and - to test. Still cuts out. Damn thing is smart

    Motor cuts under load

I still need to see if the new controller works, I still think it's just over the amp limit

    Motor cuts under load

Could this not be prevented with a simple fuse? Thats all my old bike had, no BMS at all

    Motor cuts under load

And I know I'm a guinea pig, knew it wouldn't be easy but its a bigger can of worms than I bargained for lol

    Motor cuts under load

So do I just run wires straight from the battery terminals (which I'm guessing are the end ones that are screwed on) to the terminals for the bike? Or is there something else I have to do?

Is bypassing the negative for discharge not an option then?

    Motor cuts under load

Its not the wheel it flies with a normal Chinese battery plugged in. Unfortunately its not a frame mount one, also it's hers :D

Just desolder the tabs and unplug?

    Motor cuts under load

If I get it out can I still use my charge port? And how do I do it?

    Motor cuts under load

Strange how it works with no load, or the restrictor plugged in (which goes like 10mph rather than 15.5 for some reason). I still think amp limit. If I lead a wire straight from the negative end to the terminals it will probably know right? How would I get this darned thing out?
