Thanks for taking the time to write this very clear explanation. It's exactly what I wanted to know.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Well I suppose what was voted for 40+ years ago is not the same thing as we have today. So, I guess what you are saying is that this comes down to the frequency of subsequent referendums. Since the spacing between the first referendum and the latest, held in June, was 43 years, I think 16...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Just as a point of interest, if a second referendum was held and the result was the same, then what? Would we then have a third referendum? A forth? Or what about a fifth? Do we stop holding referendums when, eventually, we get a remain vote? How is that fair? If this is going to be in any...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think the real problem is that those who voted to remain are starting to see that they were wrong and that the uk is heading for a post BREXIT utopia. Understandably, after the arguments on here, which at times have been quite personal, the remainers may be feeling a little embarrassed and a...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

But when the article is taken as a whole, it is pro-leaving. The remain aspects are part of a kind of internal debate with himself over pros and cons of each decision. They have been cherry picked to give a false impression. I thought you hated this type of reporting. Or is it ok when it suits...

I did and I think it will. BMW 20% of all sales are to the UK. Other makes are available. I think it is in everyone's interest to ensure that trade continues unhindered.

In exactly the same way that all brexiters are violent. But the one-way, non return valve of news fitted to your turnip won't allow that to sink in.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

And as we keep being reminded, we import more than we export, so the revenue from our import tariffs will more than off-set the export tariffs and some more besides. I don't think the EU can afford this, it will cost them jobs. They may try and pass on the import tariffs to U.K. Costomers...

Marmite. Produced in the UK. Labour is now cheaper in the UK. The bulk of the raw material comes from within the UK. Packaging comes from? That does not add up to a 14% rise. Greed = 14% rise.

    E-Bikes for Children

I think you are correct. 14 sounds about right to me.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

No, Unilever raising prices is greed, opportunism is cause. Products which they produce in the UK have not been subjected to a 14% rise in production costs. Greed greed greed. This company needs to sustain serious damage, but I suspect apathy will prevail.

    E-Bikes for Children

I see 50 Cycles are now selling e-bikes for children. Does anyone know if it's possible to de-restrict them so they will do 30 mph?

In your opinion. Which does not make it fact. I love how the phrase, "advisory only" was only conceived post referendum. This reminds me of playing Monopoly with my sister as a child. She would fabricate new rules in order to stave off bankruptcy.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Almost everything that Unilever produce can be purchased from an alternative supplier. Their products are fairly standard fodder. I don't like Tesco, but admire what they are doing. The public need to get behind this and boycott Unilever products and inflict as much damage to the company as...

United Kingdom = England + Scotland + Wales + Northern Ireland Vr = Votes to remain in EU Vl = Votes to leave the EU If Vl > Vr then United Kingdom exits EU Feed the following into the above equation Vl = 52 Vr = 48

    Brexit, for once some facts.

A 10 to 14% price increase is unjustifiable. People have a choice, accept it or don't accept it. Throughout my flying career I have always faced unexpected, unwanted and seemingly impassable obstacles. My outlook is to decide on the outcome I want and identify the positives in the situation...

The fact that you are defending Uni-Lever's price increase tells me all that I need to know. But I had a pretty good idea anyway.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Now this is where people need to sit up and take note of how these greedy opportunist companies are exploiting the situation. price rises of this magnitude are not justified. The production costs have not increased by 10 - 14%, in fact you could argue that the cost of producing something like...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think there is another way out. Dissolve parliament and call a general election. Each political party should then nail their colours to the mast and state if they support brexit or remain, pledging to either implement or ignore the referendum. I think this is the only way to have a shred of...
