    NuVinci

Go ahead. The world is waiting with indifference for the next washer/drier. If you read that thread on E-S, you'd have picked up that what was ringing people's bells was the claim of much improved efficiency. Total BS, as it turned out.

You'd end up with something like a combo TV/DVD - sub-optimal at both jobs and a biigger to repair.

    Liquid air, or hot air?

The first thing I thought of after seeing HS in the nuke plant was TMI.

    Liquid air, or hot air?

The report (or one of them at least) was pretty scathing on operator training. It would appear that, far from being nuclear engineers or even having a degree in nuke physics of any sort, many of the operators were just button pushers and bum scratchers. They were trained in the "monkey see...

    Brompton carrier modification

And watch in horror as it takes on a mind of its own and veers wildly into a granny or child. Ignore that - so commonplace as to be unremarkable.

    Electric cars 'pose environmental threat'

I read somewhere that when the price goes up enough it will become financially viable to start extraction in Chile and other places. Apparently, there's no absolute shortage of them, it's just they are much more concentrated in China, hence cheap to extract.

    Electric cars 'pose environmental threat'

Even if there is that much oil - which I don't believe, by the way - are we going to just burn it all and eventually run out anyway, even if we don't choke to death first? Oil is far too precious a resource and chemical feedstock to just burn - it's a criminal waste, in my opinion.

Try to build my first ebike

Since you're restricting it to 15mph and, I presume, only using the extra power for hills (during which you'll only reach that 15mph anyway) I see no reason to think you'd ever get busted or the bike to be, in any way, a reason for close scrutiny. It's not a speed demon, by any means, and you...

8 fun bikes, review of customer service

All that happened to cause this was the bike fell over? I'd be suspicious that other connections or components were damaged at that point or subsequently. Put your meter on DC 200V range, put the black probe on the battery negative and with the positive work your way along the + supply line...
