    ?what?

Easy for anyone with half a clue to make their own battery that will fit the original space. Apart from it being a frame style I don't like, I would give that serious thought - although it might look better in black.

    Fat Frank Tyres

Just the more comfortable ride - things just seem to fly along. With Brooks saddles, you have to spend a while making them fit you, as they're stiff leather. Once they fit, they're yours for life and you tend to transfer them from your favourite bike to the next. Of course, the solution is to...

    Fat Frank Tyres

It's a Velo wide/comfort saddle, made in the Far East (anag). I got it cheapy, cheap, cheap off ebay as an end-of-line item and honestly, it's the comfiest saddle I have ever used. I picked up a Brooks really cheaply but I don't know that I can be bothered going through all that breaking-in to...

    Mad!

What, they have the cheek to charge *Extra* for more batteries? Nice game to be in, pandering to the richer-than-smart.

    Fat Frank Tyres

I can second that - the difference it makes is amazing. There's a sweet spot around 30psi and that, combined with the Fat Erse sprung saddle, makes pedalling a breeze. I was lucky that my FF just cleared the mudguard with sufficient room for clogging on ordinary road muck not to be a problem.

    The flatmate compliant charger

Good grief. That just illustrates the shonky electrical system in America. You *could* use one of those, but only through an isolating transformer, so you stand some chance of safety. If you bought that kit, you'd have to run it on 110V, so the use of a 240 to 110 step-down transformer is mandatory.

Cyclamatic front brakes - improvement needed

In that case, and if it's fairly common on that model, it's likely the brakes themselves (or the mounts) aren't robust enough and are flexing a bit, causing run-out and chatter. Not a new problem, either. It wasn't unusual to hear squealing brakes when I was a lad and thinking back it was likely...

    Twin motor, 2 wheel drive

I'm all for experimentation, but with a modicum of safety in the approach to it. Flatmates, for example, are not expendable guinea pigs.

    Courier claims forms Quick Links

I found DHL to be brilliant at re-imbursing me for serious damage to an item that one of their gorillas had played pat-a-cake with. I made a point of taking good pics and emailing their Irish manager directly. Sorted within a couple of days.

    ebike calories - new calculation?

Hmmm.... how about contacting the nearest bio-human research lab and suggesting they might like to do a study of human energy expenditure while leccy biking? I can see you now - bipping along the road, with a snorkel and demand meter attached :)

8 fun bikes, review of customer service

Well, considering the often shabby customer service you can get from some of the cheap suppliers (ranging from ripping you off to simply ignoring you once they've got your money and sending sub-standard goods) I think 8-fun came through quite well in this instance. If your 15 quid all-up...
