Help! Can you help me find an E-bike?

I don't think you are going to ride any electric bike at 20 mph on the flat with just pedal power - (although of course you will be able to down hills - I often hit 30 mph down hills and there's some here that go considerably faster) There are lightweight bikes that have motors - eg Woosh Faro...

    Time for a helmet camera?

Just bought an Apeman A79 video action camera for £38. Among all the accessories that come with it is a bike mount. I was recording at 2.7k with image stabilisation. Also needed a £6.99 class 10 64GB micro SD card. Tried it out today on a grey and drizzly ride - was better than I thought, can...

    Woosh Woosh TS BB kit

On my ride today, I had the display showing current and the current in each level did vary depending how hard I was pedalling - my recollection was that that anything other than light pedalling I hit the max current for that level, but that wasn't the case today so my recollection might be a bit...

    Woosh Woosh TS BB kit

Yep - just tried it on mine - the minimum "max assist speed" is 25km/h, whatever you set p08 to. How about in the settings increasing the wheel size to 1.609*actual wheel size and change the display to miles. The figures on the display will actually be km/h. Then set P08 to 30 and it will cut...

    Woosh Woosh TS BB kit

I quite often ride showing the current so level 1 is max 3 amps, level 2 max 6 amps up to level 5 max 15 amps. I find it doesn't need much torque on the pedals to get up to the maximum current/power for that level. I use the levels really to set the assistance rather than how hard I am pushing...

Newbie dipping his toe into the world of Ebikes

Welcome, I've not seen anyone on this forum report any battery fires in the history of the forums. The vast majority of fires seem to be caused by people using the wrong chargers. Make sure you use the proper charger for the battery. Don't charge it overnight. If you want to be...

Battery Weight vs Range... a dilemma

I'd be surprised if it's more than 1.5 kg different for a 20Ah 36V battery - they weigh around 3.5kg

Battery Weight vs Range... a dilemma

Just weighed my Hailong 48v 20Ah 960Wh battery - 4.8kg My wife's Wisper 36V 700 Wh (19.5 Ah ?) battery, I think has LG cells - 3.5 kg I think getting a 20Ah battery that weighs 3.5 kg is not much extra weight (how much does your existing 374Wh battery weigh ?) for 1) a lot more range 2)...

Battery Weight vs Range... a dilemma

20Ah Hailong - on short trips you get the benefits of higher voltage (more power) so after 30-40 miles it would only be half empty and you've got that reserve if you need it. I bet the weight penalty is less than 1kg between a 20Ah Hailong and a 13/14 Ah Hailong - you don't want to be hauling...

    Zone 2 Training and Pedelecs

So the latest fitness craze seems to be "Zone 2 Training" which is training at 60-70% of your heart rate for relatively long periods (40 -60 mins) at least 3 times a week. https://www.gq.com/story/why-easy-zone-2-workouts-became-the-biggest-thing-in-fitness Among other benefits it is said to...

    stupid question

Unfortunately I think both those bikes use Yamaha motor which is quite proprietary technology (as do Shimano and Bosch motors) so they tend to be quite "locked up" in terms of throttle function and adjusting max assist speed (although there are dongles that can derestrict the max assist speed...
