    Legal Pitfalls

@Moderators: Is there / can we have a Technical Reference forum in which to "pin" posts such as this? As flecc says "the law is very simple. i.e. no power above 15.5 mph, power only when pedalling, maximum power rating 250 watts." But the details saneagle provides, as he says, show the scope...

Brake sensors and 1 to 4 cable differences.

There looks like space for one of these above the shaft of the reach adjuster, it offers both polarities and works with a 2 pin harness. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385368468528

Brake sensors and 1 to 4 cable differences.

The connectors, supply wiring and signal polarity need to match and discussions seem to fall into Bafang vs non-Bafang. So I'd buy the gear that plugs together, test the 1T4 before connecting up and be prepared to rewire it. Remember to publish the wiring :) If the polarity needs inverting a...

Bafang displays with navigation and Bluetooth

2mm font, I can order bifocals but where do you find smooth tarmac?

I've only gorn and dunnit !

Starting with the seat upright I could listen and look round so I took the mirrors off. As the seat goes lower looking back involves an elaborate squirm, following traffic thinks "WT..." and gives me a wide berth - who needs mirrors? The wrong glasses can get in the way though so I ought to...

I've only gorn and dunnit !

Welcome to the fold, there's no turning back ;-> so yes a good mirror helps. Woosh has a DGW22C kit that ticks all the above plus it has the consistent climbing power of 48V, and the Dillenger can be a second battery. It's what I use on my SMGT. For the north downs this motor weight seems...

Where to buy a Julet power connector?

Weird, certainly. The site's up for me but the banner is neither text nor image and Google can't translate it, maybe someone here can help. Perhaps ominously juleidq.com gets a server reset during page loading. Julet provides the address xumeng@julet.cn

Where to buy a Julet power connector?

Have you checked with the equipment maker to be sure it's Julet? The name on the shell looks like HUFT / ALUFT....

    Dahon Mariner D8 Conversion Build

48v bbs01ET, 1x10 drivetrain, primarily commuting 6 mile max... we need to know more about how this camel got here ;-) How steep are the hills and what will your usual all-up weight be? Will you need to count on the bike "daily all year" or will high maintenance be part of the fun?

    Sleeping On a Plane

Half fill the balloon-in-a-bag or inflatable cushion and rest your feet on it, then as you pedal down with one foot the other rises, repeat. Movement and visualising another activity are supposed to help to unwind, and maybe ward off DVT. You can tie a tight waist in the cushion between the...

    1) Noise cancelling headphones 2) soft balloon in a bag 3) close your eyes and 'pedal' your new recumbent. Then you've only your environmental conscience to deal with... 8-(

E-bike stops power shortly - hints for repair requested

Your pictured items look OK and battery perforance deteriorates more gradually than other components. As Saneagle said capacity declines but also the current they can give, which you'd notice as coping with less steep gradients than before and for a shorter distance uphills even when fully...

    Where Do You Live V2.0

RH2 please flecc. This is true dedication... have you really made 570 updates by hand?

Hoping to increase driver passing distance at night, I've glued front and rear reflectors to my wing mirrors.

Also appreciate 'speed and convenience' tips like turning Ergon grips upward, fitting the bike in a trolley etc. My Dahon Vitesse 20" just looked too big to even try it out, doh!

Hoping to increase driver passing distance at night, I've glued front and rear reflectors to my wing mirrors.

Neatly done. Which bike or wheel size is this, and what stops it getting shaken off the trolley while wheeling it around? Much overhang to the sides? Photo if possible?

    Cyclist Cop Dies

For visible phone pests have you tried an air horn? I had a hand bulb type, cheap as chips, and supper would be dished up when I signalled from a mile away.

    Cyclist Cop Dies

When lights dazzle me the nearby background isn't visible and neither is the vehicle. Without that frame of reference it quite often looks to be stopped and it can be a shock to discover it heading for me once it gets close enough to make out. What we should do to alert phone users I don't...

    Pondering on motor power ...

Add to all the above that you're probably experiencing two quite different "250W" power curves under conditions (cadence, sensor response) where they don't give maximum torque. And thankfully there are different ways to qualify as 250W, or they might all feel like your Shimano. Have a play...

    Cyclist Cop Dies

They'd better hope that traffic will follow the path they expect, because a second later oncoming vehicles will be 12 car lengths closer. Once the driver's looking again they'll close another 8 lengths before s/he can begin to react. (The Highway Code bases its distances on a thinking time of...
