Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Glad you agree, that's why I suggested those diagnostics. Levering the battery off will make it harder to test as it won't have the bike loading it or the chance to disturb the cradle and motor.

Anyone ever tried to implement regenerative braking?

I was rather hoping you'd let us know which kind works best ;) "Revolving Wing Vertical Axis Wind Turbine is a new alternative to existing Darrieus, Savonius, Gorlov, Tokai, Ugrinsky, Giromill, Eccentric-Disc, Helix, Folding Vertical Sail and H-Rotor type VAWT designs"

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Sound advice and you can test downstream i.e. starting at the battery, or upstream or by binary chop :) depending on what you can get to easily. Intermittent faults can be due to overheating or vibration with poor contact in plugs or cradle, or sometimes a strained wire or water ingress...

    UPP Batteries Warning

** AVOID TAKING BATTERIES INTO DWELLINGS ** And if David Cameron is reading this, betting on a vote was very foolish. David Cameron says Rishi Sunak aide’s bet on election date was ‘very foolish’...

Would fast charging make much difference?

My thoughts exactly. Found this system where you don't carry a battery or a charger, just a cable that tells the (free) charging point which of 21 brands of bike you've got. The cable costs 1/8 as much as a battery would, see pages 11 and 14. Bike-Energy.com leaflet

Would fast charging make much difference?

... and the car has a charge profiler too. I met a rider who'd been towing 4kWh around London, he used EV chargers but they bill for time as well as power, and the necessary adapter was bigger than his charger. After a year of this he was selling up. Some filling stations and supermarkets...

The key to the icons is in the top right corner. I'm seeing full addresses, business names and charging status without being logged in, nice, although not contact details. Would fast charging make much difference?

Brilliant flecc, thanks... last seen here around 2016, they / he'd been trying to develop the concept, company, website, app and recycling business... hmm. Maybe it's good for this to resurface every few years, these days the tech side's easier and who knows, a CIC might entail less overhead...

Would fast charging make much difference?

    > it only takes one cafe manager/owner to start charging £££s Too true, but what if the online zap map shows popularity i.e. how much usage each charger gets? The moderately busy ones probably aren't expensive or broken. Usage fees are up to the provider, but with more customers being the...

Would fast charging make much difference?

So imagine that 0.8C isn't a stretch. For longevity you'd charge at home mostly and keep fast charging for further afield. To visit somewhere 20 miles away averaging 10Wh/mile you'd need a 400Wh battery, or a 300Wh battery and a 25 minute top-up. 30 miles distant would need 75 minutes...

Would fast charging make much difference?

There'd be an online zap map for low power (ebikes, trikes and mobility scooters). Each charging point could display addresses of other nearby points, although that's not much help without a satnav. A single 2A charger adds only 9 miles of range each hour, so adding 80 miles in 2 hours is good...

Would fast charging make much difference?

I like this idea by @mr_ed that I've lifted from another thread: "Similarly with fast-charging.... I don't think it has to shorten battery life or cause fires. It works ok for Tesla where they can recharge something like 50% in 20 minutes. If I could do that on my e-bike I could carry a much...

Anyone ever tried to implement regenerative braking?

Terrain probably counts for a lot, much of the time I'd manage with a spoon brake so there's nothing to recover, but descending long steep hills coasting drag uses nowhere near the energy available for regen. Regen's stress reversals used to mean it needed a direct drive (DD) hub motor, and for...

    Revos bike motor

"PAS no signal whether peddling forward". If you mean no indication on the display it's possible that reviving the PAS sensor (or signal) will do the trick. Try repositioning the sensor in case it's been bumped out of alignment etc. Check (or post a photo of) its plug to see whether you could...

    Battery Balance ports

Dsub seems ideal but I haven't found a straight through 15 way cable yet, VGA cables have certain pins connected in the plug and <15 cores. Be wary of sharp edges when routing the internal connections!

    controller box loose

@saneagle I used thick washers under the screw heads to keep the bends in those pipe clamps from sagging under tension, or lessen it anyway. Am I doing it wrong? Didn't seem worth the faff but I've a load left over (although smaller than 36mm I think).
