Guess I'm going to have to do what I've spent my whole life doing. Take it apart while she's out and suss out how it's put together. My old mum used to go mental when she came home and found me on the floor with her old Grundig tape machine re-assembled but with a few left over screws. Never...

    Brexit speed question.

With the extensive introduction of 20mph limits in urban area's, I think there's a case for pedelec speed increase. This would enable commuters to keep up with the flow of traffic and so be less likely to be 'nudged' by the impatient. I think it would also encourage more to commute by pedelec...

I think it's because thefull width throttle bar grip has a domed end and they (and me) are not sure if a bar end mirror will interfere with the rotation of the throttle. Daren't experiment with the wife's precious Bear, life is hard enough:eek::D

I wouldn't be without the Mirrcycle on my Carrera, robust and steady. Bought one for the wife's Big Bear but Woosh advised me not to cut the end off the throttle grip. Haven't found one yet that will do the job. She really needs it as there's a serious wobble each time she looks over her...

    Newbe Oldie

About a week ago me and my wife, after a days work, cycled about 17 miles for a pub meal. Whilst sitting there enjoying my Guiness this young punk appeared from the car park with his parents. He spotted the bikes and said, 'Electric bikes, that's lazy'. It's funny, he went very quiet when I...

    Electric convertion

Here's a thread on my carrera conversion. I used an Ezee front wheel kit which, while not the cheapest kit, has proved very reliable for over 3000 miles now. I chose front wheel for simplicity, it really is a matter of putting the wheel in place, mounting the battery and plugging everything...

New member. Going to buy one, will it help me lose weight?

May the force and the e bike grin be with you.:)

    Speed matters

This is exactly why I went for discs. Long and steep downhill runs, here in Wales, wearing out my precious hub motored rim. No thankyou. I may only have mech discs but I'll never go back to v brakes.

Cree front lamp for dark lanes

Thanks Leigh, looks like I've bought a good 'un. Went to the pub last night and used the Crevit on the way home. It's ok but doesn't quite give enough detail to miss the rough bits. Looking forward to getting the new light. Boys and their toys ;)

Cree front lamp for dark lanes

Thanks guys. I can find lamps on Banggood that will operate from 36v, but the control is awkward, as they are meant for motorbikes, and would be bolted in place. So it's looking like a dedicated bike lamp, which unfortunately has a battery bag, but it is easily demountable. I was thinking of...

Giant E-Road +1 The Ride Home

Nice looking bike Phil. Riding position too radical for my old bones, but I hope you enjoy it.

18000 Lumens? Seriously? You'd be able to signal the space station with that  Looks like I'm going to end up with another battery/charger combo. I know D8veh linked a cree that could be wired straight in, but I can't find it.

What conversion kit should I get?

I have an Ezee front hub. First on steel blabes, now on ally telescopics on the crossfire, haven't filed either, seems deep enough in to me. Did use a torque bracket though, made a bracket to attach it to the disc brake post: I didn't have any issues with clearance to the motor.

Is that all? I lost my wife in a local pot hole, but I had to get her out 'cos there was no insurance on her bike:D
