Voltage and speed drop-off AND hill climbing drop-off

I have the 250w 36v 8fun kit comes with a 9ah battery Two things I've noticed are 1) I'm getting quite a bit more mileage than I expected or I actually need for that matter (25 to 30 miles). 2) Speed on flat unassisted is 14mph (GPS) BUT drops quickly as does climbing ability. I...

Broken drop-outs - lesson to all, fit a torque arm.

~Hi there firstly, glad you are ok even if forks are totally forked secondly - were they alu forks ? I'm interested as I've got a 250w 36v front hub that I'm running without arms...but the fork is a 29er mountain bike steel beast

The must have tools you haven't thought about

Sdrio - I tried that a couple of times but the result is not the same IMHO as its not as hard or as heat resistant (for starters ). It is a poor mans version As you say it is vastly cheaper and it does have its uses

    man on the moon

My post is a just a joke - daily mash is a fake news site that occasionally amuses me. Bit like a british version of the Onion

What daft madness is this ?!

Or perhaps electrify it and you have a low speed, hang glider practising device ! Not sure about that harness , funkylyn. The chaps on here seem less keen - for obvious reasons

What daft madness is this ?!

Now i love a bit of over the top, innovative bike design. But this is taking the proverbial ! The most ludicrous thing I've seen in a while Fliz bike combines walking, cycling, and nostalgia

Project Pompetamine - On One Pompetamine & 8fun watter bottle battery build

My thoughts so far on completed conversion after around 100miles 1)The pedelec doesn’t suit me - I don’t really like the way assist/leg power ratio works. So much so I have removed it to reduce wiring. Throttle all the way 2) The motor functions as I thought it would - I get 14 mph on the...

Project Pompetamine - On One Pompetamine & 8fun watter bottle battery build

Thanks d8veh, part of the reason I have left it is the old rotor was not very deep and did not wear on entire pad. New rotor is deeper and so the unworn part of the pad is rubbing. It'll wear down soon enough I thought ! The freewheel capability is a bit different Question is this - how much...

Project Pompetamine - On One Pompetamine & 8fun watter bottle battery build

Motor does feel like it is dragging and there is a knocking noise on each rotation. This was quite strong but is much less noticeable after jut a few miles. To be honest I'm not sure what noises are coming from motor and what from the new rotor/brake bedding in I'll just run them for a while...

    Electric bike build

This sounds like a fascinating project Nigel - I'd be grateful for the odd update as you go along I'm not sure your solar panels from garden lights are going to work - they are such low quality - I'm not sure how well they will series up. You might be better off just buying a cheap setup...

Project Pompetamine - On One Pompetamine & 8fun watter bottle battery build

Pompetamine is go ! Knowing I had a new throttle in the post I took the old one and connectors to bits and resoldered the lot. Voila ! And went for a spin ( just on throttle ) with cables everywhere Brilliant :) rotor rubbing but otherwise great . Pulled me up the dirty great hill with 20%...

Interesting Alternative To Bicyle Helmet Video

Have to agree with flecc - was my first though on seeing it. Useless in a face-hits-pavement situation. Also it is complex tech - complex tech goes wrong often when you least want it to (ebikers all know this !!) And finally, the ladies in the video say they dont like helmets becuse "its...
