    8Fun Bottle battery Kit

thanks for this - I've got Shimano M505 brakes so I guess i need a specific adaptor for that system - or does anyone know if these are generic items ? Apologies if this is a daft question but I'm no engineer

    Looking forward to....

The 24v vs 36v point is very intersting Indalo I've never ridden a 24v bike except an ancient powabyke so the difference between it and a modern 24v is probably huge I had kind of just accepted the recieved wisdom that 36v good, 24v bad just goes to show you need to test these things...

    8Fun Bottle battery Kit

Thanks James - very useful stuff and really clean looking conversion I am pretty sure my only major issue is going to be the brakes. I just cant see that my current forks/discs/capilers are going to work - not enough room by my estimate No worries - the forks on a pompetamine are solid...

    New bike - AVE MH7

oops , missed that - you are quite right Well, I just picked up my Brompton from my LBS (an independant of 25 years standing) so I posed the problem to them. They worked on it for a while but genuinely think your only option is the homemade (or professionlly made). They said you might want to...

    New bike - AVE MH7

one more thought for you if you end up needing to make a homemade shim of 1mm thickness Use two shims cut from beercans (other drinks are available) which should make about 0.4mm thickness dependant on brand used And then, between the two shims, use a thin layer of Sugru (Photographers |...

Newbie, advise on which ebike to purchase

Sounds like a decent brand with warranty, high quality after sales and sensibly priced replacement batteries are the way forward for you then To truly lose the 2nd car you need to factor in around £200 to £500 worth of waterproofs as well :) ! And thats not a slight against Scotland - its...

Newbie, advise on which ebike to purchase

Great advice from Bob as the best way to see what suits you is to try them - and they seem to have a great range there (Kudos, Juicy, Whisper, Freego, solex, UM and Ebco) I'd say its worth having some answers to the follopwing questions in your head as well 1) How big a range do really...

    Pedego bike query

oops pulled the trigger early If you don't mind the above then the dealer netowrk in UK (which is not at all extensive) can prob get you replacement parts. Best of contacting them direct though to confirm as it may end up being not cost effective albeit possible Pedego Europe - Find a dealer

    Pedego bike query

I suppose a key issue for you to be aware of / consider is the legality 250w is the max for ebikes in uk so a 500w would require license, insurance and numberplates (basically considered a moped in eyes of law) if

    8Fun Bottle battery Kit

Andre - thank you this is hugely useful for me Not sure how the brakes are going to work out. Guess I'll just have to bite bullet and see (maybe 180 rotors that I have will make it easier fit than the 160 ones) So did you just not bother with any kind of brake cut-off at all ? And has this...

Water proof cover for battery back rack

As it happens I tend to agree which is why I pointed him to a ready made £3.29 solution (I'd remind you that Rob had already rejected your proffered plastic bag option - which is what I keep tucked under my Brooks saddle for heavy rain days BTW) Next up the cost ladder was a Kudos pannier set...

Water proof cover for battery back rack

Another thought - if you really want something perfect rather than a cheap hack - is to ask my brother for a quote ! He runs a company that makes covers for just about anything. He is a sailmaker and started doing poptops for camper vans about 5 years back....... but he can and does make...
